Shot on the Phantom Flex and TS3 Cine by various people at Masters in Motion: 2012 in Austin, Texas. Special thanks to Michael Sutton (@mns1974) and Rule Boston Camera for their continued support of our endeavors in making filmmaking education accessible and fun. Also thanks to Hive Lighting for providing the lights. This is our take on what slow motion bull riding would look like as an "art film". This is a spoof and is no way endorsed by or narrated by Brad Pitt. Thanks. For more info on Masters in Motion follow @shooteditlearn on Twitter or check us out at www.shooteditlearn.com

My first go at shooting a timelapse, night one of Masters In Motion conference Nov 13-16, 2011. Shot with Canon 5DmkII and Canon EF16-35mm f/2.8L. Shutter set to 30 seconds at 40 second shot intervals, ISO 160. About 100 frames total. Added some color adjustments (Vibrance filter; tweaked individual color channel curves), time stretched to 50% and rendered out in After Effects. Thank you Amon Barker (@logmahal), I couldn't have done it without you! Too bad we didn't get there before the moon had started rising above the skyline... lesson learned, planning and patience are everything in timelapse.

We happen to celebrate Christmas but no matter what you celebrate we want to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season! The annual tradition of putting up a Christmas tree is our sign that the holidays are here. We shot this with an iPhone 4s, an Olloclip, and the 8mm app. We chose "The Girl from Ipanema" because you may already be sick of Christmas music and we just thought the lyrics were probably what Bruiser was thinking.

Camera, Editing and Music by Leslie Atkins When I got the bug to get a small dolly I went with the least expensive I could find, next to DIY. Enter the Zaza Slider. I've owned it for awhile now but until a couple of days ago still hadn't taken it for a proper test drive. The Masters in Motion conference in Austin inspired me to go out and do it. Mounted with a Manfrotto 501HDV head, it did take a lot of control to get steady moves, though I haven't tried any other slider so I can't compare the feel. Shot early in the morning with a 5D, a16-35 f2.8L, a 24-70 f2.8L, and Fader ND's once the sun was bright enough. Shutter set to 30, variable aperture (b/t 2.8 and 8), tried to keep ISO as low as I could - though the last shot in the sequence (first one I actually shot) is cranked to ISO 3200 since the sun hadn't quite come up yet. It has lots of noise to show for it. This was also the first thing I've shot using the Technicolor Cinestyle Picture Profile, to get a very flat image with better dynamic range than the standard profiles. I graded using Magic Bullet looks. I'll post a side by side comparison (graded/ungraded) later on. As for the pros and cons of Cinestyle... pros are the dynamic range, cons are the noise it introduces into the shadows. Location is Rock Creek Park, in Washington, DC.
