The brighter light at the beginning is Jupiter. The sky was really cloudy and light polluted. I even used low quality jpegs to avoid reconverting RAW files prior to importing everything on After Effects, it was just my first test at night time lapsing. I used Sony Vegas to edit small stuff in post, just a small amount of post has been applied, i still have to learn. Shot with a Panasonic Lumix GH2 equiped with a Panasonic Lumix G-Vario 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 wide open at 14mm, using an intervallometer. The camera took a 10 seconds exposure every 20 seconds, from 22.30 PM to 00.30 AM. This has been shot in Switzerland, Ticino, Capolago.

      • Mini Milky Way Timelapse

This was my first attempt to film the Milky Way and make a timelapse from the pictures. It took 10 days before I got a clear enough sky to get some pictures. The pictures were taken near Poipu Beach on Kauai. Unfortunately it was not until about 4AM before I could start taking pictures and since the astro twilight started around 4:30am I didn't get very many pictures. That being said, it was a cool transition during the change to twilight. In the video I loop the sequence several times at 30fps and then I slowed the last loop down 50%. (Only 52 pictures, exposure time per frame was 25 seconds, the ISO was 3200 and f2.8 with a 14mm lense.) Hope you enjoy it!

Part of my summer time lapse project, the sky wasn't as dark as i hoped and i forgot to utilize ETTR for better SNR but it still turned out pretty well. The clouds showed up but actually turned out to be a slightly nice effect.

"True beauty doesn't ask for attention, Undaunted through the absence of souls, Its timeless elegance radiances through space, Till you can't help but souse in love." "True Beauty Doesn't Ask for Attention" is a Time Lapse film produced to uncover the pure hidden beauties of Milky Ways in Thailand while also discovering the unique essence of many landmarks in Thailand's lesser known provinces, from a perspective of one person. Filming the Milky Way of Thailand has always been my most wanted objective since starting Time Lapse. Thus, having been to only major cities to do filming, this time I decided to visit the lesser known provinces to film the Milky Way, as the remote places of these locations are usually darker and perfect for astrophotography. The filming period spanned over 4 months in order to capture the most beautiful periods of each 46 locations in the film; ranging from the mountainous Northern Thailand during January 2015 till the Southern beaches during March-April 2015. The meaning behind the film title is that, as I believe this is likely the first Time Lapse film which truly shows the beauty of Milky Way in Thailand, I wanted to think up a title that best encapsulate the essence of Milky Way. The Milky Way, though extremely beautiful, is not commonly known among the people, as it can hardly be seen with naked eyes. In other word, though it is extremely beautiful, it doesn't ask for attention. Hence the title “True Beauty Doesn't Ask for Attention”. This is also the first film project in which I manage to capture the Milky Way for the first time and a total of 13,000 photos were used for this film production. Thus, I hope you enjoy my latest film production. All your comments and suggestions are sincerely appreciated. FILMED AT OMANAWA FALLS, NEW ZEALAND Just as the seasons change as the Earth orbits around the Sun, so does our perspective of the night sky. This time-lapse video shows the beauty of the Milky Way from the Southern Hemisphere, and how our view-point changes as we pass through the different seasons. PRODUCTION NOTE It took nearly 1,000 still images (3 hours continuous filming) to produce each minute of this time-lapse video. The sky movement you see in the video is caused by the earth's rotation in those 3 hours (not by camera movement). Part 1: Autumn - ✓ Part 2: Winter - to come Part 3: Spring - to come
