A film by Brendan Ahern and Petra Dekker. Even before the Second World War, the PTT worked on the development of buildings for the mechanical handling of mail. Plans for the Rotterdam station post office were delayed by the war. Due to the large amount of work for the reconstruction it was commissioned to a private architectural firm (the Kraaijvanger brothers) in 1954. On June 4, 1955 the foundation construction started. In September 1959 the building was inaugurated.. In 1992 the Central Station Post Office lost its function. As a monument of the Rotterdam reconstruction after WWII, the building had to be maintained within the planning around the new Central Station. Between 2005 and 2009 the building was transformed into a business complex for the creative sector called Central Post

An alcazaba is a Moorish fortification in Spain and Portugal. The word derives from the Arabic word .al-qasbah), a walled-fortification in a city. According to architect restorer, Leopoldo Torres Balbás, the Alcazaba of Málaga is the prototype of military architecture in the Taifa period, with its double walled and many fortifications. The names of numerous historical buildings are Hispanic versions of Arabic terms. In this case, Alcazaba refers to Al-Qasbah, which means citadel. The Spanish countryside is decorated with similar structures in Spain, for instance in Almeria, Badajoz and Malag

Yesterday my grandfather Geert Muskee, aged 92 and a former resistance fighter in WW2 revealed a replacement statue for the one stolen last year. During the war he was in the group Salland in the surroundings of Marienberg and Beerze in The Netherlands. I was proud to film the ceremony. He smiled for the first time since long....

The guy you thought was going to win won, but not in the way you thought he was going to do it. Fastest Roubaix in the modern era thanks to weather, teamwork, and tactics, plus a healthy serving of good-old-fashioned bad luck. Probably the first time all spring there have been more riders throwing serious attacks than I have time to point out—a good problem to have.

Calatrava, who master-minded most of the complex, says" I am proud of the fact that people can walk through and around the main buildings without paying. It is a city to be discovered by promenading."You can promenade for more than seven kilometres around the complex thanks to the vision of this internationally acclaimed architect, artist and engineer who allowed his imagination free rein when it came to designing one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by his native city. Many Valencians admit to having visited the arts and science city scores of times without ever having bought an entrance ticket to any of its four star turns: the "Hemesferic", Planetarium, the Principe Felipe Science Museum, the Oceanarium and the Reina Sofia Arts Palace.
