Rendezvous new album "Another Round Please" is available now on all major stores! Official Store: http://store.rendezvousmusic.co.uk/ iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/album/another-round-please-bonus/id501898617 Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Another-Round-Please/dp/B0077FPKPG --- On 7 October, Electronic duo Rendezvous – Itai Simon and Hagai Izenberg – follow up their underground hit C Sharp with a slice of smart, leftfield electro in their new single The Murf. Another track from their now eagerly awaited debut album, Another Round Please, the song has already made headlines before its release – including on CBS news – thanks to a stunning video that has gone viral (clocking up 160,000 views and counting in the space of a couple of weeks). The video, a beautiful piece of work by animator Scott Benson, is about "growing up in the universe" and manages to succinctly tell humanity's story so far and raise questions about its future, all within the space of a 3 minutes, 40 seconds animation. The band already have a firm fanbase across Europe, with home videos of the band recording their debut album quickly received over a million views on the band’s YouTube Channel. The band worked on The Murf, and the rest of their forthcoming album, with producer Dave Bascombe (Kylie Minogue, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears) and his classic production style leaves an undeniably sleek mark on the band’s recordings. The track itself follows a minimalist pulse that brings to mind the likes of Kraftwerk and Underworld and like the duo’s other recordings, it nods its hat not only to the early electro pioneers but early progressive rock and chillwave. This is undoubtedly a classic sound, the two piece playing the vast majority of instruments on the record themselves live in the studio, yet again fusing the digital with the traditional to great effect, bringing an organic approach to dance music. Accompanied by a series of remixes by John Digweed, Nick Muir, Loverush UK! and Timothy Allan, The Murf is now a big club chart success with UK’s Music Week ranking it at #13 on their Top 40 Club Chart. Also, Carl Cox recently featured the band on a 2CD compilation for Space where he included one of the two remixes he contributed to their last single. Now, with massive coverage already in place on key radio shows and from the likes of tastemaker’s bible DJ Mag, Rendezvous’ profile is only expected to grow further and further. The band’s debut album, Another Round Please, will be released on Feb 24th with worldwide distribution via Rough Trade. June 17, 2011—We are proud to announce the release of Phatty OS v.3.1, a major firmware upgrade to the very popular and portable Phatty family of analog synthesizers. The upgrade to the Phatty operating system coincides with an aesthetic upgrade for the Little Phatty Stage 2 Edition, as Moog introduces new black sidepieces. New features in the Phatty OS v3.1 update include the following features that improve power, sound and control: • Volume Velocity Sensitivity: The ability to map note velocity to output volume with fifteen adjustable levels of sensitivity saved per preset. [Tribute Edition hardware does not currently support this feature] • Legato Glide: Automatically engage the pitch glide between legato notes. Non-overlapping notes snap instantly to a new pitch. The user is able to play or sequence dynamic bends and slides mixed with cleanly-articulated notes. • LFO Reset: The ability to reset the LFO cycle at the start of each note. Two LFO trigger modes provide dynamic new modulation possibilities. • Sustain/Hold Mode: A sustain pedal or control voltage plugged into the CV GATE input jack can now be used to send MIDI Sustain on/off, and to polyphonically sustain MIDI notes from the Phatty keyboard. • 14-bit MIDI: All Phatty synths can now send and receive high-resolution 14-bit MIDI messages for critical voltage-controlled parameters. • MIDI Output Filtering: New options control which MIDI CC messages are sent from the Phatty, for maximum compatibility with external gear. • Expanded MIDI Clock sync options: 22 clock divisions including triplet values for both LFO and Arpeggiator MIDI sync. Clock divisions range from 32nd triplets up to 4 bars. • Improvements to Arpeggiator: • Global Arp Setup menu: Set important arpeggiator parameters at a global level. Arpeggiator also remains active when presets are changed. • Gate Length: Adjust the arpeggiator note length from 50% to greater than 100% (overlapping), for a range of new sonic textures. • Arp Clock Send: Arpeggiator can now send MIDI Clock, MIDI Start and Stop messages, allowing you to synchronize other gear to the Phatty internal clock. • Improvements to Polyphonic Mode: o New polyphonic note-allocation scheme: Uses a "round-robin" algorithm to share notes across multiple Phatty synths in a natural and very playable way. o Polyphonic arpeggiation: Multiple ways to use the Arpeggiator across a poly chain of Phatty synths, from tight integration to completely freeform. Availability and pricing: The Phatty OS v.3.1 Update is a free Firmware upgrade for all Phattys: Little Phatty Tribute, Stage 1, 2, and the Slim Phatty. It is available for download at www.moogmusic.com/OSv3.1. It is also available as a Factory Upgrade from Moog. Should you choose the Factory Upgrade, Moog will update the firmware for your Little Phatty (Stage 1, 2 and Tribute) as well as include a sonic tune-up to the latest hardware for $99.00. 1st presentation of eCaro - electro+acoustic research objects -, an improvisation for expanded piano, using both acoustic and electroacoustic resources, by myself and Paulo Maria Rodrigues. We used a Continuum Fingerboard, an iPhone, a Moogerfooger MF-101, six EBows, some coil pickups and contact microphones, a mbira and several homemade mallets. By using contact loudspeakers on top of the soundboard, all of the sounds have the same origin and 'sonic print'. It also enables the use of string resonance as a reverb for the electronic sounds. Presented at Performa'11 - http://performa.web.ua.pt/ -, it is a condensed 20-minute version. We can only improve from here! ;)
