It would be a stretch to call this a whitewater video, just some good times with good friends in a beautiful place. The Nolichucky River is a southeast classic, almost always has enough flow to run it and paddling right into camp can't be beat. ~950 cfs, mostly class 2-3 with a little spice thrown in here and there,

Beautiful day for personal first descents (all 4 of us) of Nolichucky Gorge. Level was about 1.54 ft. or 780 cfs at Embreeville. The Nolichucky Gorge starts near Poplar, NC and the takeout is near Erwin, TN. Typically people take out at the Nolichucky Gorge Campground which is about 3/4 mile upstream of the Erwin area takeouts. I did not capture the entire trip as my battery died about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way through. However, most of the better known rapids are represented here. 00:30 Railroad Bridge Rapid 01:50 On the Rocks 03:05 Jaws 03:42 Snappy (I think) 06:25 Quarter Mile Entrance (I think, somewhere in here) 09:35 Quarter Mile proper 14:43 Murpheys Ledge

It's raining high in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is where the Nolichucky River truly begins.
