Teaser from the feature length documentary For Thousands of Miles. Maybe someone better with words could explain why it is abandoned houses always feel so fascinating when on the road. I used to spend hours in them on my first bike trip... Tim and I would drag our bikes off the road, make lunch while sitting on a dirty, glass-covered floor. I would poke through old dressers, look for things that used to be important to someone. Baseball cards. Magazines with notes scribbled on the margins. It was late when Larry came across this old farm-house - he stopped, took a few pictures, wandered around the back and peaked inside... but there wasn't enough light to really find your way around. He was only there a few minutes, and then he was back on his bike... I wondered when I was filming this when the last time anyone payed any attention to this empty home. http://FToMfilm.com

Upon traveling thousands of miles to the rural town of Crosby, North Dakota, the observation of my grandparent's 62-year marriage develops into a deeper meditation on the definition of love. This film is meant to capture their spirit before it is too late. I began contemplating this idea in December of 2013 and in late July 2014 I flew from Tampa to Minneapolis, then hopped on a train bound for Crosby, ND. My talented girlfriend, Skyler June, assisted me along the way by being the most amazing subject to film, as well as capturing some beautiful photography herself. I filmed for a total of 3 days. My gear included a RED Epic captured all in 5K, LOMO anamorphics (35mm, 50mm), a 1979 Canon super 8mm and a 1972 Pentax 6x7 film camera. I collected all sound using a Sound Devices 2-channel recorder. Film Festivals: Winner, Award of Merit, IndieFest Film Awards. Please check out more story points and BTS footage here: http://www.crosbyrail.com/. Original Music was scored for this film (Thank you JT Brown, Joseph Guerra, Matt Reisinger & Kristen Felicia Mirabal): https://soundcloud.com/crosby-rail/junebug-crosby-rail-film-original-soundtrack https://soundcloud.com/crosby-rail/hillside-crosby-rail-film-original-soundtrack Huge thanks to Jeremy Osbern for working with me on the anamorphic lens rentals. Thanks to SPARK for all the support.

There was no ill intention while filming this video. We made it specifically to give the public an eye of the devastation that many people werent able to see and that no one else would document. We did get permission from the sheriff on duty and from the flood hotline to go in and film however the state is now trying to charge us with a class c felony for criminal trespass so i would urge others not to go into the waters or to do anything like this. This video is an edited version since the police made me remove some of the video. Me and my Dad respectfully and slowly canoed through a neighborhood in south Bismarck that has been affected by the flooding on the Missouri River. None of this water is supposed to be there. Originally this would be roads and yards for all of the homes we pass by. The devastation that these people are suffering is unimaginable. Some of the footage was pretty shaky because canoes arent very steady in water, especially when its being rowed. One home that was not sandbagged was especially dramatic and helped to get the emotional devastation across but had to be cut from the film due to censorship. If there is anyone who is being affected by this flood in Bismarck or any of the surrounding areas and would like documentation of your home or the damage being done to your home, please contact me. Boat guided by Ric Sprynczynatyk. Filmed on Canon 60D. Music from the American Beauty Soundtrack.

We had filmed some great stuff with Bob, a truck driver hauling water in the oil fields for a feature doco called "Columbus, Oil Rigs and American Dreams" but unfortunately he made the cutting room floor and it was a shame to see his part go to waste. This film is a fascinating insight into working far from home in the oil fields up in the forgotten prairies of North Dakota. Music by the ever-so-talented http://www.nickharveycomposer.com/ "Columbus. Oil Rigs and American Dreams" will be broadcast on Channel 4 and Film 4 sometime this summer. It will also TX in Denmark and Norway.

I've mainly been using instrumental music for these teasers - but to be honest, I've always wanted to use music more in line with this teaser. If I can help it, at least half of the soundtrack will be music you're used to hearing in these teasers, and the other half will be more... old, lonely, love-related. There's a good reason for that - but one I'll save for the film. Until then - here's a shot of Larry pushing slowly back against the winds in ND... alone on the road with nothing left to do but think about everything his life has been, and everything he wants it to be. http://forthousandsofmiles.com http://projectpedal.com

Im making 7 films in 7 days. Each day i pick some random object and try to film it in an interesting way and make it look as good as i can. I only have one day to film and edit each video while working around my full time job. Today's was particularly challenging to accomplish with my limited time schedule. I will never be able to listen to this song the same way again after teaching all these people not only the lyrics, but how to say them as fast as Busta and in sync with him as well. Two full days of work condensed into about forty seconds. I had so much fun making this though! Filmed on Canon 60D Song: "Break Ya Neck" By Busta Rhymes
