1. David Liebe Hart - I'm In Love With An Insect Woman @ Northcote Social Club, Northcote (11th Oct 2013)

I have to be honest! I didn't know WHAT to expect from a David Liebe Hart show? All I knew where those kooky video skits with a weird guy wearing a Bluetooth earpiece and a bunch of raggity puppets from the Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! TV Show. What I did find out after watching his show, is that David really is a lovable sweet guy. As well as being a struggling LA puppeteer and singer/songwriter, he is also a painter, an avid church goer and an obsessive trainspotter! He was like an excitable boy when it came to talking about our local trains and trams here in Melbourne. At one point during the concert he even asked a punter to please send him some videos of our public transport. It wasn't just a puppet show! David has a full on touring punk band made up of guitarist Adam Papagan and two members of perth band, The Decline. He crowdfunded his debut self titled album that came out this year, with songs about Betty White, Two Erics, his ex-wife and porn. Strap on your Bluetooth headset, clip on your fanny pack, and lets get weird! Direct from the ‘Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!’, DAVID LIEBE HART will be boarding the next Korendiand space ship and landing on Australia this October. Joining the puppet master in his quest for ying yang will be his very own band performing their brand of old school punk rock with offbeat song topics ranging from his love for Reba McEntire, getting bad service at the grocery store and Liebe Hart’s many ex-girlfriends. David and his band - on the perfectly named ‘Salamae-zing Tour’ - will be hitting most of our capital cities, playing songs from his up and coming debut album (well, debut for his band) which is due for release later this year. With all these hits and a suitcase filled with puppets & instruments, you will love this tour to bits… you’ll want a kiss on the lips! • David Liebe Hart - Salame @ Northcote Social Club, Northcote (11th Oct 2013)

David says, "When I was a child I was abducted by Korendian aliens. They took samples of my skin and my blood. They hadn’t tested a black species yet. Many, many years later right at this very bench is where I met a beautiful woman who looked like Bettie Page. She told me she was an extraterrestrial. At first I didn’t believe her. She took off her sunglasses and I saw that she didn’t have pupils like we do. Then she pulled off her shoe and her big toe was in the middle instead of on the side like us humans. When two UFOs meet in space they say “Salame,” which means “Goodwill and peace and protections in your travels.” She taught me that salutation. When I went to work for Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, the first song I wrote was called “Salame.” Quizelquoy was Jezebel’s protector. He said, “We’d really appreciate you not using extraterrestrial language because we want our privacy and you’ve infringed on our privacy by using the word Salame.” I was just trying to share their message. The sad thing is that Warner Brothers owns the rights to that song." I have to be honest! I didn't know WHAT to expect from a David Liebe Hart show? The 8Foot Felix Pozible campaign at www.pozible.com/8footfelix is striving to raise $8,888 to get the band to the UK in July. To that end, our wonderful filmmaker Sim Salabim recorded us and our amazing crew on site in Open Studio and at the Northcote Town Hall. You can see that video on our YouTube channel or the Pozible campaign page. There were many scenes that didn't make it into the final edit. This video is a fun wrap up of outtakes and rambunctiousness. Enjoy dear friends!
