Falls from roofs may be the most obvious hazard workers are exposed to when working in a rooftop environment. But there are other less obvious hazards rooftop PV workers are exposed to on a daily basis. Federal OSHA mandates workers receive training on all hazards to which they will be exposed and many trainers may not be aware of-or familiar with-these other safety topics. This webinar provided a comprehensive overview of specific hazards presented in rooftop PV work, how the federal OSHA regulations apply to each and ways that solar industry trainers can incorporate these topics into their training efforts. Experts from the National Roofing Contractor’s Association and Roof Integrated Solar Energy presented.

Every year there are roughly 100,000 injuries reported as a result of lift truck accidents in the United States, which are estimated to cost employers in excess of $100 Million annually. The sad truth is that many of these accidents are completely avoidable if the proper safety training was conducted. That is why in 1999 The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) started mandating that all companies provide proper safety training. Due to the substantial human and financial toll these accidents can have, OSHA has made a point of fining companies for violations. These fines can cost your company between $7,000 and $70,000 per violation. This webinar will provide you with additional insight on how to become OSHA compliant while creating a safe and productive work environment, including: • OSHA Training Requirements: Understanding what the requirements are and how to comply with them. • Training Resources: What resources are available to help you become compliant and train your operators appropriately. • Benefits of Operator Training: Explore the benefits of how effectively training your operators can impact your company’s morale, productivity and bottom line. From the real-world perspective of an experienced industry expert you will gain insight into OSHA’s requirements
