The Timefrog is a completely unique gestural and sequential Midi interface. Olivier from Undead Instruments has created a genius little device that is unlike anything out on the market. I am using it to trigger two different sounds I made on the Analog 4. I sampled those plus a patch from the Alchemy iPad app into my Octatrack. I've chopped and mixied those while playing more from the Timefrog/A4 and Alchemy. Let me know if you have any questions.

One of my favorite Sound scape techniques is to use the Octatrack as an additive live sampler. I'm using 3 custom patches I made on the OP1 as well as 2 Reaktor ensembles and 1 Alchemy patch. The OP1 is also being processed through the Cocoquantus. All other patches are processed through the Big Sky and El Capistan.

I've been wanting to experiment with the Cocoquantus as a modulation source for my Eurorack Modules. I combined the Braids and Morphing Terrarium through the Echophon and Zdsp (Valhalla card). Everything is clocked by the Maths with Rene sequencing the notes. I wired the Coco to itself and took the most promising points to a format converter and out to all the mod points on the Braids and MT. I used a Dave Jones O'tool to monitor a couple of the sources for visual feedback and an LFO on the Analog 4 to switch back and forth between waves on the Braids. I used the Turing machine to clock the 4MS SCM+Breakout for variations on the pattern from Rene. The percussive sounds are from the Braids and processed through a convolution reverb (I picked up the Impulse responses from Diego Stucco's new library Rhythmic Convolutions http://www.diegostocco.com/ffs-rhythmic-convolutions/). The Leap is controlling 2 custom Reaktor patches so I can swell sounds together. Let me know if you have any questions.

I sampled the two phrases you hear in the beginning (from the Morphing Terrarium) and process them with the Octatrack. I am manipulating a bunch of parameters in real time with one Nano Kontrol for the OT and the other NK is for the Big Sky reverb.

All sounds are from the OP1. I pre-sampled 2 melodies on the Octatrack, chopped and rearranged them with onboard effects. I resampled 1 of those on Samplr, pitched it up and applied onboard effects. The rest of the piece is played and mixed live to 2 track. I have 2 Nano Kontrols, one is for the Octatrack levels and rate for each track and the other is controlling a Big Sky reverb patch. The live OP1 is going 1st into the Red Panda Particle - Big Sky Reverb - Cocoquantus. So many experiments to do with this setup it boggles my mind. Thanks for watching and please feel free to ask any questions.

I am transitioning from making music only on a laptop 100% to an almost all hardware basis. In order to get all the MIDI talking together I'm using an iconnectmidi 2 which still requires a computer as a host. Which is kinda cool as I bought the push and love using it as I am not a keyboard player. Ableton makes it so easy to get everyone talking. Without relying on VST's and a mouse, the completely different mindset it takes to interact with each piece of gear on it's own terms is so wonderfully refreshing!

Small 6 Panel Buchla system with Oberkorn Sequencer and Octatrack Jam highlighting the 267e -great for a small system- with noise, filters and random voltages in one panel - doing most of the drum sounds. The 259e is doing the double bass type sound. The random voltages vary the filter band pass and centre frequency to create the percussion sounds, and warp the tone of the 259e for a more 'acoustic' sounding bass note. The Octatrack is clocking the Oberkorn and providing some bass drum (sampled from the Buchla) and a CR78 type snare.

Slow Sunday jam. Main pad is coming from the modular. STO and braids both tuned at a nice interval for pad like sound. Function is doing most of the modulation. All other sounds are from the A4.

Using the transition trick with pitch shift and reverb to create love samples for the stabs. Great fun.

A quick up beat track. Drums are recordings of my stairs coming form the OT, bass, lead and melody form the A4, and the delayed arp from the modular. Modular patch is using braids pluck mode with a little bit of the STO shaped output mixed in.
