4th chapter of the show Japan Desu, in which I tried to give a glimpse of what was my last trip to Japan. This chapter is dedicated to the city of Kyoto. In order to give a different view of the city, we tried to show little known areas that maybe you´re not used to see. As always, all the recording was made with Canon T2i without tripod or any other kind of support and with the following lenses: Hanimex MC 28mm 2.8 Pentax M 50mm 1.4 Canon EFS 18-135mm IS 3.5-5.6 Music: Olof Arnalds, "surrender" ------------------------------------------------------------------- 4º capítulo de la serie Japon Desu en la que voy dejando constancia de las ciudades o las zonas que visité en mi último viaje a Japón.

This musical video piece, Eins og sagt er ( or "As they say” in English) was Ólöf Arnalds graduation project from the Icelandic Art Academy's music department. She is presently working on her second solo album to follow up 2007's Við og við. Here is what Ólöf has to say about the piece: “In the summer of 2005 I interviewed 17 people of different nationalities that all had in common to be living in New York. My intention was to get to know peoples attitudes towards their origin, their mother tongue and inquire about the meaning of music in their lives. Those 17 individuals also compiled few sentences in their own language that dealt with music and read them out loud for me. I owe these people an eternal debt of gratitude. The Icelandic I sing in the final section of the piece is a part of a poem by my father, Einar S. Arnalds, which later became the last song of my album, Við og við. In composing the melodies I mainly worked from the rhythm of the sentences as my interlocutors spoke them. Therefore this piece is in great part theirs rather than mine which left me with the task of changing their words into music which is then played together in unison.”

The official music video for Ólöf Arnalds' new single 'Patience'. ‘Patience’ is taken from Ólöf’s forthcoming fourth album ‘Palme’ (US 30th September / UK 29th September, EU 19th October). Ólöf’s most collaborative effort to date, ‘Palme’ offers an astonishing wellspring of fresh ideas and playful experimentation. Working with trusted friends and collaborators Gunnar Örn Tynes (founder of electro-folk collective, múm) and long-term musical foil, Skúli Sverrisson (Laurie Anderson, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Blonde Redhead) on ‘Palme’, Ólöf describes an unsparing recording process: “What worked best musically always ended up in the songs, and the darlings were killed with no regrets!” Palme is available for pre-order now: CD / Vinyl: https://bit.ly/olof-palme iTunes: http://smarturl.it/Olof-Arnalds-Palme __________ Follow Ólöf online: https://www.olofarnalds.com/ https://www.facebook.com/OlofArnalds https://www.youtube.com/user/olofarnalds
