Moving beyond emotional and sentimental attachments to a church or religion established in childhood, we use the gift of a reasonable mind enlightened by our relationship with Christ dwelling in our heart. "Come let us reason toether" the great prophet Isaiah (1:18) has spoken from God's own mouth! Let us first, obey the Revelation given by the Lord our God of Himself through His Son Jesus Christ - Who alone reveals the Father and through Whom we come to the Father. Through asking for a baptism in His Holy Spirit, Christ Jesus personally gives us an experience of His power and enlghtenment which allows our full human person to choose FREELY to obey Him and follow Him in His gentle Commands (see Gospels). The epistles from the apostles "flesh out" HOW to obey Him, and Church History - the Jerusalem Church www.jerusalem-patriarchate.org - will give the uninterrupted History of His Holy Church from Pentecost until this very day. We ignore the state of the Orthodox churches for the most part humanly speaking - and study "to show ourselves approved" for right-believing in Christ as taught by His Apostles, even as we have a fractured, academic and many time parishes without experiencing His Holy Spirit. There are wonderful exceptions of course, and we would be happy to point anyone seeking direction in this matter if you contact us: Orthodox Mission POBox 2395 Santa Maria CA 93457 or (805) 361-0433

Discussion on the role of the enemy of God and Mankind, Satan who seduced EVe and Adam into sharing his rebellion against God. He is a liar by nature, wrapping himself in verses of Holy Scriptures even as he did with Christ on the mount of Temptation. Christ Jesus of Nazareth defeated him there and humiliated Satan and his demonic hords on the Cross of our Salvation. The Sign of the Cross is an important weapon as we make war against the Kingdom of darkness, bringing the Light of Christ's Resurrection and His Kingdom of Light into the world. Please write Orthodox Mission, POBox 2395 Santa Maria CA 93455 for free brochures and information about this Ancient Faith founded at Pentecost by our Savior and continuing with this same Spirit-filled power even until today, for we know that the "Gates of Hades shall not prevail against" His Church!
