1. Walt's Worm

A very effective, yet simple nymph pattern that will imitate most aquatic insects in the stream substrate. Most importantly, this pattern will portray a crane fly larvae, especially if you decide to add a ribbing to this fly. I tie them in a #10-#18 and if needed, add a bead head for extra weight. One of the best all purpose nymph patterns in existence. Similar to the Sexy Stone and a hackle-less Bitch Creek, this thing cleans up everywhere, year round.

A collection of POV shots while thumping a couple browns in Pangburn, AR. The video is a little shaky/off set, but hell it is hard enough to net these fish by yourself; getting good video is a task. I caught all 3 of this fish on the same day in about a 15 minute window (whoa) on an egg pattern and 6X tippet. The music is by a good buddy of mine, Patton Hughes, of the Delta Bends now out of Nashville, TN: they have an album on iTunes, Google Play store, or if you want a copy get in touch with me and we can make it happen. Also a reminder: these low water conditions are tough on the fish, so be sure to keep the fish wet as long as possible prior to release. Tight Lines - DW
