Choreography by Erin Leigh. Performed by Katie Irwin, Holly Robbins, Carly Harward & Destiny Dahl. Projection videography & editing by Maggie Bailey. Projection & Lighting Design by Garrett Bell. This piece was performed at the College of Charleston's fall dance concert, 'Out of Control'. The concert was based on the faculty choreographers creating a piece with some aspect of it being out of their control. I collaborated with professor and choreographer Erin Leigh. I was given complete artistic freedom on how I filmed and edited the projections.

Heheh. It's yet ANOTHER tokusatsu music video, but THIS TIME, it's a tribute to just one series. And even then, it isn't just a tribute to /any/ tokusatsu series, but the best one of the new tens itself. That's right. It's a Kamen Rider Gaim tribute. First things first though. Due to the nature of the show, there are interconnecting points and foreshadowing made throughout the series--as early as Episode 1 (!). A As a result, there are MASSIVE SPOILERS for the ENTIRE SERIES up to Episode 46 (though the clips used here come from an alternate timeline that is NOT canon to the series proper) in the scenes used in the video. lso, as the song 'Out of Control' by band Nothing's Carved In Stone is used in the video for 'transformative' and non-commercial purposes, it falls under the definitions of 'fair use'. It is not mine, nor do I gain anything of value from using said song (published by Sony Music Entertainment Japan). The video thus assumes that you have watched all episodes up to (and including) Episode 45. Episodes 30 and 37 as well as the Spring Break Combination Special are not used here as they are NOT canon to the timeline portrayed here in the video. Now that THAT's out of the way, let's explain some stuff in the TMV (Tribute/Tokusatsu Music Video). For all of you fans of the Urobutcher, this song should be familiar to you guys--it's Out of Control by the J-Rock band Nothing's Carved In Stone. Used as the second opening theme to the new Urobutcher show Psycho-Pass, it definitely makes the video unlike any other. Have fun watching, guys. :D

Sound and light installation, Atomium - Brussels -ID#2014 The “Out of Control” installation explores the question of Singularity: the inevitable rise of the Super Machine - longed-for or feared - which, according to some theorists, should occur around 2030, i.e. in the blink of an eye. While the emergence of the first Artificial Intelligence remains a sci-fi theme, the nature and associated risks of such technology has long been a topic of reflection for authors. As early as 1946, Murray Leinster’s novel, “A Logic Named Joe”, imagined the excesses of a hypothetical global computer network capable of attaining a pseudo-conscience. The stronger the machine, the more worrying its malfunctioning may be. “Out of Control” deals with this issue from the inside, not from the human but from the machine’s point of view, portraying the inner conflict of a faulty artificial system which suffers an external attack, unaware of what or why this has happened. The nature and history of the Atomium make it the ideal location for this installation. The site embodies the Golden Age of sci-fi, when questions first arose regarding the relationship between humankind and conscious machines (Asimov and its three laws of robotics). The Atomium was built during a time period which saw the future both as a promise of advancement and as a source of concern. The era of the atom, of course, but also that of telematics, very high speed trains, and supersonic aircrafts. Opportunities were being discerned. Fifty years later, the questions remain. By welcoming the “Out of Control” lost machine, the Atomium reminds us that technology never stops questioning humankind about its nature. Atomium Brussels TEAM VS:Julien guinard .
