Pastor Jerry sent out this email: "I love Gatorade. I'm not endorsing the product as a super healthy substitute for water since Gatorade, even the G2 type has sugar in it but when I am thirsty Gatorade does it. The hot and humid days of Florida summers will drive your thirst to unbelievable levels. When you are that thirsty you need that thirst to be satisfied. God isn't pushing Gatorade but He does have something that will satisfy your thirst. This Sunday, August 30th at 10:30 AM I want to share with you about a man with a powerful thirst and how God satisfied it. What He has done before, He will do again.” Sampson served God, but he had his faults. We must always have the weapons of God at the ready. We must be armed with the Word of God and filled with His Spirit to be prepared to do battle. Just because we were once filled with the Spirit, doesn't mean we are set for life. We must invite the Spirit to fill us every day. The Bible stresses how the speaking in tongues is the evidence of the filling of the Holy spirit. But, even if you once prayed in tongues, do you still? As Sampson threw the jawbone away, have we also tossed aside the weapon He's given us to stand against the enemy? Being once filled with the Holy Spirit is essential to accepting the salvation of Christ. But we must remain filled if we are to be able to continue to stand against the forces that do and/or will oppose us! There has ALWAYS been the Pentecostal witness in the Church - to the Day of Pentecost (in Acts 2) to today. Pastor Jerry shares his witnesses about how he resisted those crazy people who first demonstrated to him the power of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Yet the Holy Spirit compelled him to go back and accept it. Pastor Jerry goes on to describes how speaking in tongues is only possible when led by the Spirit, not by our own efforts. Yet, it takes our own effort to come in line with the leading of the Holy Spirit. How many of us "Pentecostals" have thrown away our jawbone? Do you need fresh oil?

                  from Catherine Glover Added

This message, “Communication” was recorded at First Southern Baptist Church of Coalinga on Sunday, August 30, 2015. Jesus prefers that we are occupied with Him more than being occupied for Him. He wants us to sit at His feet. He wants us to have communication with Him that allows us to be still and know Him. Jesus taught His disciples how to pray so that they could draw closer to God.
