"66 WAS A GOOD YEAR FOR TOURISM" A film by Amit Goren "Do you know why it wasn't worth it? Because my children are torn between two worlds. I am angry, really angry, because we've created this situation!". That's how my mother summarizes 25 years in America. In 1966, when I was nine years old, my parents emigrated from Israel to New York with my two brothers and I. In our home the issue of our immigration was a constant source of conflict between our parents and we were never quite sure whether we should embrace or reject our new country. Twenty five years later my brothers and I each define our personal and national identity in strikingly different terms. While travelling between my current home in Tel Aviv and my family's home in the USA, I find myself engaged in an emotional journey that raises questions about immigration and assimilation, identity and belonging, along a trail of one family's wandering - Alexandria, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles and New York. My dad loves to collect beer labels from different breweries around the country. He keeps them all in a scrapbook that he has proudly put together and organized over the past few years. I sat down with him at his home in Chico, CA in November 2012 and asked him all about his collection. Even though I had a really rough cut put together shortly afterwards, I let it sit for a couple of years for a variety of reasons. I finally returned to it over holiday break 2014 and completed it. In large part because I wanted to make sure it was done while he is still with us (not sure I could pull it off afterwards) and also because I wanted to visit with him, to see him as I will always remember him, and editing this turned out to be a great way of doing just that. Filmed | Edited: Cory Fossum Camera: Canon 7D Lens: Tamron 30mm 1.4 Edited in Final Cut Pro X

Slowly Fading is a personal insight into early onset Alzheimer's Disease; it's exposing my beautiful mother and I through certain stages of the illness. I made this film initially as a cathartic process, and at times as a tool for interaction between each other too. My aim now is to show mine and my mothers personal story, and to help raise awareness and money to find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

‘Time Tells’ is a personal documentary about an essential part of my family history. The themes of identity, trauma, migration, ‘coincidence’ and memory are key. It takes place in Istanbul during a memorable lunch gathering to commemorate a meeting with the Turkish ex- ambassador to Argentina, with whom my father lived 11 years of his life with as a young man. This situation and its circumstances saves him from the Holocast. Memories alternate with reality, inner thoughts and associations. The magic of the story itself and the intimate approach with which it is made are the basic elements with which this film is made. It was a true challenge to transmit a complex piece of history where such close emotions of love, joy and pain where involved, into a transpersonal and poetic visual form. Being a photographer for the past 35 years, is my first 35 minute documentary film. Special thanks to Sonia Herman Dolz.
