Live in the layers, not on the litter. ‘Layers’ is an interpretive and experimental look into the history of the Abbotsford Convent. It tried to highlight the diverse elements throughout the Convent that make it such a great space. The tagline “Live in the layers, not on the litter” comes from a famous poem by Stanley Kunitz and I believe it suggests embracing both the good and bad memories of one’s past. The images were mirrored to represent exploring this space from within the layers. Even though the convent has become a great communal and creative space for the public, its past should still be reminisced upon. Abbotsford Convent Individual Assignment. 2012. Music: Piero - Barbarian. Made using Stills put together with Photoshop, After Effects and Premier Pro.

This is two separate video open animations that I've combined into one since they worked so well together. The robots animation was created in 3ds Max 2011 and rendered with V-Ray 1.5. The Pixel Motion animation was created in Max 2011 and rendered with Mental Ray.
