In a first step towards making pop up maker communities in train cars, we hit the MBTA in Boston to see if non communicative travelers were keen to instead spend their time weaving hammocks for the homeless out of recycled plastic bags.

    • MH0962 En dansker i Europa 5 - Margrete Auken hos R98 og Amager Ressourcecenter (InternetH264)

      from Kanal 1 / Added

Vært: Ole Stephensen Produktion: Mediehuset København for Kanal 1

UPDATE: We won first place in the MassRecycle student video competition (http://www.massrecycle.org/r3education/r3conference/collegecompetition)!! Did you know that plastic bags are recyclable BUT not through curb-side/single-stream recycling? To properly recycle plastic bags and films, you must place them in designated recycling bins (located in many grocery stores). We loved making this video, but please keep in mind that avoiding the use of plastic bags in the first place is much better for the health of our oceans and planet, than recycling them. ------- On average, plastic bags are used for 20 minutes before being thrown away, but they persist in the environment for hundreds of years. The best thing to do is to use your own bag (remember, REUSE!). However, clean, dry plastic bags can be recycled along with plastic packaging materials in designated drop-off locations, which can be found online. Every second, 12,000 plastic bags are thrown away in the US, but less than 3% of these are recycled. Do your part: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Biodegradable bags do not violate the environment, even if just thrown in nature. We produce biodegradable bags by using supplements that promote rapid degradation of the polymer after its disposal. http://www.swisspack.co.in/biodegradable-bags/
