Secrets (2015) Secrets is a short film based on visuals and the dark mood of the abandoned hospital. I wanted to make a visual story that appeals to most filmmakers. Shot on Panasonic GH4 Speedbooster EF to M4/3 with Canon 24-105mm f/4

For a video contest through zooppa.com, the creatives were told to create a video that expressed the endangerment of the Northern White Rhinoceros. There are only 5 Northern White Rhinoceros' left, so they wanted to send the message of urgency and convince people to donate to rhino conservation. I wanted to create a unique perspective of the matter in a way that would draw the viewer's eyes and captivate them. I did this by replicating an ancient cave painting which told the frightening story of the Northern White Rhinoceros. Awards: Not yet determined (Still in voting process) BREAKDOWN: 1. First I created a gigantic Photoshop file. I gathered a library of commercial free images, since this is a commercial for TV, and started compositing a basic layout for the painting. I blended the images into the cave scene by using several blending effects, such as smart-filters, blending modes, layer-masks, and displacement maps. 2. The Photoshop file was then transferred into After Effects to be composited. I converted the image to a 3D-layer and created a camera which I animated to pan across the cave painting. 3. I wanted to imitate a torch light effect, so I created an After Effects "light" and parented its movement to the camera. Then I added a wiggler effect to the light's brightness to simulate flickering, as well as to the camera to create a virtual camera shake. After all of the mechanical setup, I applied slight color correction and grade to really sell the effect. 4. The render was then transferred to Adobe Premiere Pro to be edited with commercial free sound effects and music.

2015 Missouri youth season. My friend Billy's last youth hunt and my first attempt at simultaneously filming, calling, and guiding. Despite all the multitasking I think the footage turned out pretty decent.
