"Manteles al óleo, coordenadas de consumo" is an art performance project by Daniel Yacubovich. Daniel's creations always focus on experimenting on shape, texture, light and color values, playing with the observers' perception. For "Manteles al óleo, coordenadas de consumo", Daniel painted a 5m x 2m canvas with oil paint. But this huge canvas was not the whole work of art. Daniel layed it in a table as a tablecloth in order to do a happening action around it to complete the art piece. On 12th november 2010, after a month of hard work in order to prepare the whole performance, several persons were invited to Sala 2 on L'Estruch (Sabadell) to take part on the performance. Those who accepted the invitation became part of this art project and helped to finalize it. In the happening action, people stood around a table covered with the huge canvas painted by Daniel. In that table there were "Bread Volcanos" built by Ivan and Carlos Merino in their Bakery and several bowls and plates with diferent sauces as Humus or Taboule. People were around the table, eating and talking in a casual ambient while they were being filmed by a cenital camera which images were projected at real-time in one of the room walls. This video projection of the cenital camera looked like a painting hanging on the wall. The cenital image flattened the perspective, all the elements (peoples hands and heads, food and drinks...) looked like part of the huge canvas painted by Daniel. So the perfomance consisted on a interactive painting: all the people movements around the table, consuming the food and drinks looked like dynamic elements on the wall projection, the painting was changing at every moment. This video piece is just a sample view of the perfomance, a remix of images which try to pass on the essence of the happening action. Music Theme "Revolte" By Paul Kalkbrenner.

This video was created in March 2008 as a project for Audiovisual Techniques subject on the second year of ESDi's Digital Design graduate. The students had to work under the theme "Sustainability", trying to create a visual representation of this concept. One year later "Responsability" was choosen with some other projects for being sent to LOOP 09 , a video art festival set in Barcelona, as a sample of the Audiovisual works done in ESDi. Now I've re-edited the original footage to upload and share it.
