    • Fred Couples circa 2000 - The 1992 Masters Champion talks about competing against Tiger Woods, Retirement and Putting

When I was working as a sports reporter in Seattle, I had the opportunity to interview 1992 Masters Champion Fred Couples on several occasions. He was born in seattle and for several years he came back and hosted a charity golf tournament. This interview was at the last golf tournament he hosted at the golf club at Newcastle. In my opinion Fred is one of the most genuine guys in sports. He is engaging, humble, candid and made my job extremely easy. This interview was done in 2000 and Tiger Woods was on his rise to domination in the golf world. Fred talked about competing against Tiger and trying to beat him. He also talked about his love for the Ryder cup and the Presidents Cup, as well as, a little putting lesson and what he works while practicing on the green. You'll see why Fred is still one of the most popular golfers of all time....he is just a nice guy with unbelievable talent to play the game of golf.
