The song in this video is performed by some random guy in NYC who will probably never see this. I filmed awkwardly close to him with a zeiss 50mm 1.4, using only the 7D to capture sound. The rest of the footage is a mixture of the zeiss and a Nikon 24mm. It is all handheld and not color corrected. Enjoy.

This was a spur of the moment project, shot during my recent vacation to Costa Rica. My good friend Jason Soares took me to a part of town that most people don't see, and introduced me to a woman named Rebecca "Bleu" Oleson. Bleu, along with a local church, has been helping to bring education to this underprivileged community. We were fortunate enough to be invited to their local Christmas Party and assist with the festivities. I was inspired by the dedication and passion Bleu had for these kids and wanted to document it. - shot with the 7d - 24mm lens - unscripted, not planned - only had the mic from the camera, so please excuse the sound. - edited on FCP during my flight home We have set up a Pay Pal account and will be collecting donations for the rest of the Holiday season. All donations will go directly to Bleu to help her keep doing what she's doing. If you are interested please visit: http://tiny.cc/bleu442

First: Please turn up your volume loud as Kevin Matley has made some beautiful music. The story: Operation Origami started in late 2011 as a labor of love of my wife and art. Behind the scenes, this film is actually a love story. My wife Heather and I were just dating at the time we started the film and are now married with hundreds of changes in our lives since that first frame was taken. Over the past few years we continued to work on it in our spare time. Heather is an expert at Origami and I wanted to learn more about time-lapse. This film is the result of my learning process. Little by little over the years we visited locations throughout the USA during our travels, and when it worked, we brought a time-lapse rig to capture a scene. Multiple cameras where used to shoot the film as technology had also progressed over the years. Since we started Operation Origami Heather and I have gotten married, bought our first home together, changed our jobs and had a son named Hudson. Finally this project was ready to complete and its time to move on to other adventures in filmmaking. We climbed mountains and travelled thousands of miles to shoot these scenes. There is a progression of seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter. In the end these paper cranes have made their home on our Christmas tree where they will be cherished forever. Thank you to everyone who views it. I hope you like the film and can see something in it even though it is personal to me. Such a happy couple in love, Sara + Matt were a joy to work with on this perfect day at Castle Hill in Newport, RI. The operatic duet at the beginning of this trailer was performed live at the church. After the ceremony at Salve Regina, we did some creative shots at the Castle Hill Lighthouse on scenic Ocean Drive with photographer James Hazelwood. That was lots of fun. Toward the end of the evening, Sara's dad rocked the house with Boston band Beantown, when he sat in as special guest drummer! It was in fact... a good day. I want to thank cinematographer Chris Loughran for helping out on 2nd camera for this event.
