Prairie Madness is a story of one brother riding his bicycle from Calgary Alberta to his brother's house in Winnipeg Manitoba trying hard to avoid the cold weather that October may bring. The trip takes us to the far reaches of the Canadian prairies through open roads and gravel trails. During the 21 day trip numerous photos and video were compiled of the terrain and towns that were ridden through.

In 1936, many Anishinabe were expropriated from their land in order to create Riding Mountain National Park. With an aim towards preservation, conservation and recreation, Parks Canada burned homes, alienated and angered the Anishinabe and forbade anyone from utilizing the plants for medicines for over 60 years. Makwa Mee Nuun tells the story of three generations of Anishinabe medicine women – two related by blood, each by friendship – who continue to pick medicinal plants in the area and actively work towards reconciliation with Parks Canada.

I loved doing this Connection Session with Cody and Kristian a couple of weeks back. It was my first time in riding Mountain National Park and I fell in love. Manitoba really has a couple of very beautiful locations for great wedding and engagement photos, but more so, spaces for family and friends to create memories. These are some of my favorite frames from the session. All on film. Perfection in the imperfection. On eof the reasons I love shooting film so much! www.blfstudios.com Fine Art Wedding & Portrait Photographers

Each year, we head out with friends and family members around Christmas time for a snowshoe on a local lake in Riding Mountain National Park (Manitoba) - to take photos, to toast the new year, and to celebrate the gift of family and friendship. In addition to an excellent snowshoe, we were treated to some beautiful light on Clear Lake in the national park, as we returned. The musical track accompanying this video is Veni Emmanuel, played by The Turtle Island Quartet. For information about day or night time snowshoe experiences, please contact Earth Rhythms (http://www.earthrhythms.ca)
