1. Rio Grande Cooperative Project

    from Christi Bode Added 88 0 0

The Rio Grande Basin's methods are as diverse as the problems they are trying to solve, yet everyone wants the same result: keep water flowing to sustain the San Luis Valley for generations to come. With water storage becoming more critical than ever, the Basin moves to capitalize on existing reservoirs for the benefit of all upstream and downstream users. The Rio Grande Cooperative Project is a new way of doing water business through public/private partnerships, that is leading by example in the state of Colorado.

              from Dee Gardiner Added 36 0 0

Stony Pass was a very enjoyable ride - even in the rain. It began to rain as we started up the trail and rained on and off until we were well on our way down the other side. The ride from Silverton to Stony Pass is pretty easy as is most of the ride down the other side. There are, however, a few sections on the southern side that are quite steep and rocky. We were glad to be going down these sections. Stony Pass is along the Continental Divide and the road on the southern side follows the Rio Grande River from its headwaters. Much of the trail is really fun and scenic. We camped just up river from the Rio Grande Reservoir.
