1. Fossil Fuel Disaster Relief Ride

    from ps Added 20 0 0

We left Time's up Brooklyn space and, picked up blankets, food, medical supplies, and more from Occupy Sandy Hub at 520 Clinton Avenue. We then rode out to 96th St in Rockaway to drop off goods to Occupy Sandy Distribution. We split up and some cyclists with trailers, went and distributed individual packages to home-ridden families, Some helped with demo and construction, and provide free bike repair and bicycle-generated power! These rides will highlight the need for relief not only from the immediate disaster, but also the root-cause of this disaster and others - the burning of fossil fuels! These disasters will only get worse if we do not change our ways today. Bike Power!

After Sandy hit I spent 8 humbling days with Duracell, filming and passing out batteries to people in need. I shoot a lot of disaster relief work and one thing that always amazes me is how people come together in times like this. A group of people from Brooklyn NY and the Catskill Mountains went to Rockaway on Monday, November 12th to play music and tell stories to kids and to bring much needed supplies. It was clear very quickly that Occupy Sandy was extremely well organized and was providing a very important lifeline of supplies to the Rockaway area. Canon XH-A1 Sennheiser MKE 600 Premiere Pro

Almost a week after one of the largest hurricanes ever seen had slammed into the North East the call went out for help .... This is just a small glimpse of what we saw , what we did , the homes we helped ...and the people who did the work.
