[Important Notes] Audio is from a Rode VideoMic Pro directly into the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera (no preamp). I think the audio performed quite well in this test. Audio + Video was captured from HDMI out into the Atomos Ninja 2. (I did not have an SD card in the camera). My comments: http://cheesycam.com/blackmagic-pocket-cinema-camera-rode-videomic-pro-captured-on-atomos-ninja-2/ I wanted to test only Micro Four Thirds lenses. Panasonic 12-35mm F/2.8 Panasonic 35-100mm F/2.8 Panasonic 45-150mm Panasonic 7-14mm F/4.0 f/4.0-5.6 Rokinon 7.5mm Fisheye I had a hard time judging focus from the LCD screen. I put my trust in focus peaking and I notice I was off on many shots. Also for the wide shots 7-14mm & Rokinon 8mm I was unable to use an ND Filter (no threads on these lenses) so I tried stopping down the aperture which caused the images to be very soft (and look like crap). I'll try again next time.

Laulupidu (song festival) in Estonia is something very special. This was a small festival for only one county (Harjumaa) held in Keila, but still there were about thousand singers and dancers and musicians participating. It was a hot summer day (June 1, 2013)....... Camera: Canon 60D Sound: Rode Videomic Pro Music: partly by myself, partly classical Estonian choir music.

I attended this big March against Government Cuts, March for the Alternative, in London on the 26th March 2011. This Documentary is also a part of my MA project "A Day in the Life". This documentary film is about documenting one day of a protestor in “March for the Alternative” on 26th March 2011 . This documentary film exposes a protestor’s point of view through what he saw on the day. He guides and shares his thoughts through out the day. Because photography is moving beyond the still, documentary photographers can express themselves more effectively using moving images. Technological advancements allow photographers to do so since most new DSLR cameras come with video capability. Because of this, documentary photographers can tell their stories in a new and interesting way. I just recently picked up a Rode Videomic pro! My biggest reason for using one is that the built in mic on the slrs don't work very well, especially for live music. And the built-in mic is mono. You'll see, the audio in the first part of the video with the BUILT-IN mic (Talib Kweli @ Florida Room, Miami) is totally unusable. You can't even tell what the song is when the bass kicks in. The second part of the video with the RODE mic (Guilty Simpson @ White Room, Miami), shows what the rode mic can do. sound is straight off the camera, no filters have been used for either test.

A casual day, I tagged along dad as he went flying gliders. Dad and I were among the first on the field, so we prepared the planes and vehicles for a day of flying. On the first flight, we were up for almost two hours before we came down for lunch. The images were pretty shaky. It was tight in the plane and a struggle getting stable footage. Camera used: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera on a small handheld rig (not in the airplane), a F mount Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 (non VC), Metabones BMCC Speed Booster, Genustech Eclipse ND filter and a Røde Stereo VideoMic Pro. I also used an Iphone for two shots, guess which ones :) Edited in Adobe Premiere CC 2014. For grading, I used Adobe SpeedGrade CC 2014, my own BMPCC Chrominance LUT and Visionstech OSIRIS Vision X REC.709.

The Glidecam HD4000 was the biggest flyer I had to carry some extra weight. Canon 60D was the base for this last minute hacked up rig. The 60D provides a flip out screen and manual audio levels. A Sigma 20mm gives me wide, without distortion on the 60D. The new Rode VideoMic Pro with it's new +20db feature with 60D Manual Audio turned down low sounds real real good. The 352 LED ring light provides a very bright, large area, evenly diffused, dimmable light source. I needed to raise up the camera with a battery grip and QR plate to fit the light. Needed to pick up a pair of 7.2V RC batteries and ran them together at 14.4V. The 352 LED Ring light rocks... More http://cheesycam.com/last-minute-glidecam-mods/
