    • The Hawkeye II Advantage

      02:24

      from PSS / Added

HawkEye II brings new capabilities to the table that fill in the gaps of traditional ground based cameras and helicopter based camera balls. Not only can HawkEye II monitor up to 25 square miles vs the single street corner coverage of a ground based camera or a single block of an airborne camera ball, it also allows analysts close in coverage of any location without the loss of coverage of the overall mission area. Each system has a purpose. Ground based cameras are good for monitoring doorways, street intersections, ATMs, and convenience stores. Camera Balls are great for high resolution images of specific events on the ground. When these two systems are teamed with HawkEye II, the value goes up exponentially by leveraging the capabilities each provides to get better outcomes for analysts.

Live stream recording 2015-03-18 - Internet freedom has declined for the fourth consecutive year. So concludes this year’s report by the American NGO Freedom House. In many countries, bloggers, journalists and ordinary people are arrested for expressing their opinions online while governments – also in The Netherlands – are searching for ways to collect more data about their citizens. Because with vivid memories of the recent terroristic attack in Paris, a call for more security (instead of privacy) can also be heard. But how can we find a balance? What does freedom mean on the Internet? And what about Internet freedom in the Netherlands? 2014 was a rocky year for Internet freedom. The Saudi Arabian blogger Raif Bawadi was sentenced to 1000 lashes for his blogs, British intelligence services intercept mail correspondence between journalists and social media collect more data of its users than ever before. The questions rises whether or not the Dutch government is an exception, since it is discussing a proposal to enlarge the ways intelligence services collect data. Amidst this trend, activists are trying to battle the global tendency towards a more controlled Internet. Which force is stronger? These and other questions will be discussed by top experts: - Sanja Kelly: project director Freedom on the Net for Freedom House - Ronald Prins: security expert and boardmember of Fox-IT, one of the most renowned Dutch cyberdefense and security companies. - Dalia Haj Omar: Sudanese human rights activist, who left the country because of monitoring by the government - Jaap-Henk Hoepman: director of the Privacy and Identity Lab.
