I used one simple balloon and gave it life. Rather than tell a story, I created a collage of memories, a scrapbook of experiences, which serve as windows into the life of the balloon. If the balloon had a funeral, this may be what is played at the ceremony. By the end of the film, the audience should feel attached to the balloon, they should feel like the 'know' it, like they have read it’s diary. -- The overarching theme in my film is how sound can be used to characterize, even rewrite, a space. I explored how one radio station can change your entire interpretation of a space vs. another radio station. I also explored how one radio station implies something about the balloon that another radio station may not. Because a blue balloon is such a simple object, the audience can be less distracted with the details of the main character and focus on the power of sound and its ability to create atmosphere. At the same time, the balloon is a very bright and energetic object and the audience naturally, by contrast, associates a certain element of life or energy with the balloon allowing it to be a character rather than just an object.

The messages my pictures convey are different aspects of a person’s life. The times when we hurt, when we’re happy, young, and everything else, and also all the different ways we can perceive the world around us. Right off the back the first and the third image display some sort of knee brace and the first image is of a shadow with cracks in it. The second, fourth and fifth photos show how everyone see the world in different ways. One way is trough a camera, an object that lets you always have a particular part of the world, and the other way is just looking at the ground. We see the ground all the time as we look forward, but it’s not often that we stop, look down, and appreciate the earth below us.

People: Part l The messages my pictures convey are different aspects of a person’s life. The times when we hurt, when we’re happy, young, and everything else, and also all the different ways we can perceive the world around us. Right off the back the first and the third image display some sort of knee brace and the first image is of a shadow with cracks in it. We see the ground all the time as we look forward, but it’s not often that we stop, look down, and appreciate the earth below us. People: Part II Although this is the second part to the people video it is easy to tell that the two video's portray different messages. Part II of the People video focuses more on the faces of people; the different expressions they show, the different angles at which they are perceived, what you can gather from each face, and the differences between them. The facial expressions range from happy to content, to confused and tired. Some of the pictures are taken from the side but the people that are looking straight at the camera stand out the most. It’s interesting to me that after I finished this second part of this video I realized that the three images that stand out the most are the only three images without a real person in them.
