November 18 31 degrees Winter Storm Always had an interest in trying to surf the lake waves during a storm but they never seemed big enough to be worth while until today. Today was HUGE. My brother Michael Dunning is wearing a GoPro as we paddle out into the icy water from a semi sketchy cement boat ramp. Unfortunately the GoPro got knocked down before any surfing happened but this gives you an idea of what it was like out there. Every once in a while there would be a rouge wave that was twice the size of everything else. It was tempting to paddle really far out. I only had 4 rides in about 30 minutes and paddling out was way more exhausting than expected! We were constantly fighting the wind and because there was no distinct break zone there was no rest. Crazy how big the waves in the lake can get. POV: Michael Dunning
