Ok... '95 Terje: That was the first time I tuned his board before the US Open right before the Finals. I was still with GRINDrite then (I was one of the 4 guys that started GR in '92) and was stoked he let me put that GRINDrite sticker on his board right behind his back foot...then he won. Big day for me...! Rollie Free and Glenn Curtis: Two guys I respected for their balls and skill. Rollie Free needed to get this naked and go prone to set a land speed record at Bonniville in '47. Glenn Curtis was the fastest human alive, land-sea or air riding that motorcycle of his own design and construction (engine and everything) at 137 mph on Ormond Beach FL in 1907. That record wasn't beaten by anything for nearly 10 years and another motorcycle didn't beat it until the early 30's. I am such a pussy compared to these guys. Blotto shot our yearly company wide tuning party I throw every fall here at burton to get everyone's gear sorted for the season. RobWSM shot is of me and the 2nd Jeremy Jones spinner binding I made for him for his amazing scenes in The B and subsequent. One of the scarier bindings I've ever had to make for any team rider. THBaker: At Baker for the Banked Slalom with Terje a couple years ago...in Richard Wolcott's tuning room at his house. I had spent the whole day riding pow with DCP, Terje and Dave Seaone, taking breaks only long enough so those guys could take their qualifying runs. You don't get to do that everyday and it was truly one of the more amazing experiences of my life. Me & Victoria on the chair at Solitude UT. I really miss Vic. She was so amazing for the whole sport and was a hoot to work with. Great development rider. Always had ideas and was super creative. Side note... I was riding with Craig and Victoria at Copper during a Burton sales meeting in I think it was late '01. They were just flowing down one of the cruisers with me tagging along when they came upon a skier's race course the skiers were using for race training. There was nobody around at that time and the start was roped off. As soon as they saw it they glanced at each other and without a word to say, both dove into the course and it was on. I think I'm likely one of the few if not the only person that has ever seen Craig and Vic racing each other. It was awesome. They were going for it and right on each other. Dead heat at the line if I remember correctly. Lucky Guy: Well, I was working with Hannah on her gear and they wanted to do a story on my job for ESPN Magazine. So that was one of the shots they took in the photo shoot. Still one of my favorite ever. Shaun: I'm putting final touches on Shaun's board at the Open and he just had to get in there and make a few final swipes with the file on his own. I told him that once this pro-snowboarder/rockstar thing is over he can come work with me any time. I first started working with Shaun when he was 7. The last shot is just me in my home workshop working on my kit before heading out to ride.
