1. 10 Days With Ellie

    from Caleb & Shawn Added 23.3K 573 59

My girlfriend (Shawn's girlfriend), from Australia, came to Seattle to spend 10 days with me on her way to her new home in England. We packed everyday full of things to do, places to see and people to meet and I couldn't be happier with the time we spent together and every single memory we made to look back on. This is just about everything we enjoyed smashed into a 4 minute video. Wish you could meet this girl for yourself. She is wonderful All shot on Panasonic GH3 and the 14mm 2.5 pancake except 2 shots with a different lens Music by Night Beds

They say it's gloomy, it's cloudy, it's wet, I say it's paradise. I’ve been in The Pacific Northwest about three years now and have fallen head over heels for the place. This timelapse video is the first of what I hope to be many visual projects exploring the region and - at the very least - getting me out of the house. Many thanks to Kai Engel (Anton Fedchenkov) for his wonderful piano piece, Irsen’s Tale. You can find Anton's Creative Commons work at http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Kai_Engel/. This is a time-lapse I shot during one of my trips to Seattle. I spent the previous week or two scouting locations online, so once I got there, I had a specific shot list to follow. The skies were a little cloudy at times, but I also got lucky with some nice weather and even had an amazing sunset one evening. I had a blast exploring this amazing city, and many thanks to my friend Stevan for being my personal guide and for driving me around! from Erik Hecht Added 27.5K 122 20

Took my new Panasonic GH4 for a spin around Seattle to put it through its paces. My main focus was to test the dynamic range and see how well it takes grading. Most of the video was shot handheld with the Panasonic 12-35mm. All of the aerial footage was shot handheld with a SmallHD DP4-EVF for some extra stability. I'm very pleased with the results. https://instagram.com/erockshakur https://www.erikhecht.com https://www.thecameramancan.com Music Credits: "As Colorful As Ever" by Broke For Free (http://brokeforfree.com)

This short is the second installment for my Seattle and The Pacific Northwest series. A video/timelapse hybrid, this one is shot primarily during winter of this year. As a transplant to the Pacific Northwest, this series is my endeavor to venture out and explore some of the beauty I've found myself surrounded by. Many thanks to Dan Gorlin (danny@alokli.com) for an inspiring piece of music created specifically for this video. This short film is the result of me touring Seattle for 2 weeks in June 2008 and showcases the many moods of this beautiful city. I hope this encourages others to go and explore Seattle in all it's splendour. Coming from the other side of the planet, it is heartening to find places where the people are warm and friendly and welcoming of tourists to their town. This is in part inspired by other peoples efforts I have seen here on Vimeo. Thanks to all the film makers here for giving me the drive to try making something like this. 2nd Edition: Uploaded April 23 2010 - after nearly a year on Vimeo I have been watching a lot of others work and have started playing with very basic colour grading and what is possible purely within Premiere CS3. I have only just scratched the surface but have begun to understand that such processes really can improve the look of your film. This latest upload is now a 1080p mp4 version (drawn from the original source) rather than the original transcoded 720p flv version I uploaded initially and the look is much better.

                      from Ryan Killackey Added 10.8K 31 8

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your amazing responses!! It's been great to read why so many love this city. When my business meeting in Seattle became postponed, I was left with a full day to myself - so I took my camera and tripod into the city to shoot some time-lapse. I was prepared to shoot 10,000+ photos, but what I wasn't prepared for was to fall in love with Seattle, its culture, and its people. This time-lapse is dedicated to the amazing people of Seattle, and to those I met on my journey. If you'd like to participate in a sequel to this video, write to me and tell me why you love Seattle: ryan@ryankillackey.com
