Opener for the Toca Me Design Conference 2013 In his work for the TOCA ME 2013 event in Munich, director Timo Böse came up with this blend of classic meets modern. Through interrelated pictorial elements and subtle modulation of intense colours and soothing sound, he suffused his piece with a vibrant softness. The traditional Still Life arrangements are enhanced by subtle 3D animations, evoking the artists associated with the event. Just around the back of my house are the Queens Road Allotments. They are divided into plots which people use to grow vegetables and keep chickens etc. It's also a place to go to get away from it all. It really is as if time has stood still on the allotments. In the evening, at this time of year, it is a magical place! All the film was shot on a Canon 500D and the music is my own creation, recorded in Pro Tools.

RED 03:45 2013 Music: Eierkoch Automat Red as apples, as any objects accidentally red gathered in a still life that, contrary to the law of immobility of all the still lives, seems to have the will to follow the rhythm of a jazz foley suggesting a sense of restless instability. The video is part of my project to revitalize the still life as a genre renewed by the time factor and the movement of the video as a medium. Revisiting the classic genre of still life, inspired by Flemish painting and by Caravaggio's paintings, shapes and colors are enhanced by the light contrasting with the black background. As in paintings subjects are in complete stillness, in videos there is the fourth dimension, time, which gives further metaphorical depth to the image. Selected at 17th ed.
