In today's technologically driven society, you can visit countless places around the world while sitting on your couch. The interfaces and methodologies that generate this possibility are created by faceless corporations, such as Google. Thus, this piece explores the juxtaposition and subsequent underlying tensions between virtual and physical exploration of the private beach of Seahorse Key, where virtual is defined as navigating the interface of Google Street View, and physical refers to video footage I captured when I was physically at that same site.

I made it out this morning for what will likely be my last fat-tire ride on snowy trails this season. I'm okay with that as I got my share of miles in this year despite some setbacks. Music by Jahzzar: Streetview (http://www.betterwithmusic.com)

A film transition is a technique used in the post-production process of film editing and video editing by which scenes or shots are combined. Most commonly this is through a normal cut to the next scene. Most films will also include selective use of other transitions, usually to convey a tone or mood, suggest the passage of time, or separate parts of the story. These other transitions may include dissolves, L cuts, fades (usually to black), match cuts, and wipes.

This movie is a remake of the famous Claude Lelouch movie "It was a date" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%27%C3%A9tait_un_rendez-vous). Although using a similar technology (Google Streetview) to Diederick Overbeke's remake (http://cargocollective.com/overbeke-photo/C-etait-un-render-vous), it totally differs in the way that the drive through Paris was screen recorded live using Google Streetview in the same "sequence shot" way as the original, reproducing the difficulty to drive/navigate: - speed change in curves, - risk to take a wrong path, - risk to land in tunnels under the road in certain portions of the path. The soundtrack is the recording of mouse clicks and key presses during the performance. Funnily, the movie ends more or less the same way.

Themes are unifying or dominant ideas and motifs in a film's elements (such as plot, dialogue, photography, and sound) conveying a position or message about life, society, and human nature. Most themes are implied rather than explicitly stated, regardless of whether their presence is the conscious intent of the producer, writer, or director.
