Many independent and big-budget filmmakers find themselves in a special dilemma when shooting car chases, crashes, and fast motion scenes—forced to resort to unflattering wide-angled cameras to get into tight corners, excessive rigging or camera cars to keep jello at bay, and warping stabilization filters to fix unavoidable slanting and fisheye. In this spot, done with no post-stabilization or motion correction, we show how the D16 is the perfect small camera for your car and action sequences. Cast: Robert Streeper, Ashley Fiolek Director / DP: Elle Schneider Gaffer / 1st AC: Dalton Gaudin Camera Operators: Elle Schneider and Dalton Gaudin Key Grip: Chris Haggerty Car mounts & rigging: Tyler Phillips and Joe Rubinstein Production Coordinator: Tim Edmond Hair & Makeup: Lisa Hansell Interpreter: Hilari Scarl Music: White Night, Black Light by Doug Parr (Licensed through The Music Bed) Special thanks to Matthews Studio Equipment (www.msegrip.com) for providing car mounts, c-stands, and Polly Dolly.

Tested out this beast of a lens on my black magic pocket last summer and this is the results. Sorry for the shakiness. It's all done handheld. This was just a quick test I did while me and my friend Lena were out in the woods location scouting for a project. The color grading is not consistent between all shots because I was playing around with some different looks. This is all quite random and was not even meant to be shared with anyone, but I figured someone could find it usefull if they are looking to buy one of these lenses so I posted it anyway :) Cam: Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera Lens: Tokina TV ZOOM 16-160mm F/1.8 (c-mount) I shot this quite a while back so I don't remember what each shot is at, apature wise, but I'm guessing around 4-5.6 for most and down to 2.8 on some shots as it was starting to get dark outside. Pros: Overall a very sharp and fast lens with great throw! It's very sharp on the wide end as well. Cons: This lens pretty huge and weighs quite a bit. Anyone looking to get this need to have a good lens support and a sturdy tripod/strong back. Music: And we get older//JIM GUTHRIE shot by: Jon Andreas Sanne girl in video: Lena Isaksen

First run with my Russian wonder, the Krasnogorsk-3 (K3), modified the gate ourselves for Super 16. We decided to try shooting some real footage instead of a normal boring test; this will be put together as a book trailer for my dad's spy novel that he self-published on Amazon. This is the raw footage from the lab without sound. It will be cropped for 16x9, sharpened, and colored a bit more for the final edit. Exposure was all done with a light meter phone app in addition to the K3's internal meter, which was pretty spot on. Not bad for a 50-year-old camera! We attempted to shoot sync sound but have not yet tried linking the sound file to the footage. Just watching this I can tell the framerate drifts a bit during the dialogue shots. We had everything set to 24 FPS (except for three shots we did at 48 FPS) but the footage looks a little slow so the speed label on the camera might be off. Kodak Vision3 500T 7219 film, two 100' reels Processed and prepped by Niagara Custom Lab http://niagaracustomlab.com/ Scanned and corrected scene-to-scene for tungsten stock, no 85 filter used. Frame Discreet handled the scanning and did a fantastic job. Thanks Justin and co.! http://framediscreet.com/

A little edit of a short film I shot a while ago in film school. I hope having the whole thing play out within one frame paid off; I felt it was the best way to showcase the passage of time and emotion. Shot on the Arriflex SR3A, 16mm Zeiss Superspeed. vimeo.com/joncon
