Whistleblower leaked courthouse security video: Illegal arrest of Robert Saunders during a family court hearing in Sacramento County, California. Judge Matthew Gary ordered the arrest of Saunders - an indigent, disabled family court litigant without a lawyer - for contempt of court. Two outside, independent judges who later reviewed the incident determined that both the contempt charge and arrest were illegal. 32:11

                  from LarryParks / Added

Walpin served as an attorney in the US Air Force Judge Advocate General; as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of Special Prosecutions for the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of NY for five years; as president of the Federal Bar Council; and was appointed as Inspector General by President George W. Bush, and was confirmed by the Senate. The interview addresses: Haven't times changed since our Founders authored the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, requiring different interpretations from what the authors intended? Isn't the Supreme Court responsible to protect individual rights of all people, one of which is not being compelled to incriminate oneself, thus authorizing the Court's decision to issue the Miranda ruling? One chapter in your book criticizes the Supreme Court for excluding evidence seized by police without a warrant. Wasn't the Supreme Court thereby simply enforcing the Fourth Amendment? Another chapter criticizes the Supreme Court for the Roe v. Wade abortion ruling. Didn't that decision simply guard a woman's right to decide for herself what to do with her body? Another chapter criticizes the Court for declaring unconstitutional various statutes allowing the imposition of the death penalty. There are many people who oppose the death penalty and assert that it has resulted in death for some persons later shown to be innocent. Why shouldn't the Supreme Court protect innocent people from execution? The First Amendment prohibits Government involvement in the establishment of religion. Yet, you criticize the Supreme Court for prohibiting the forcing of attendees at a public school football game to listen to a non-denominational student pronouncement of belief in God. Isn't the Supreme Court thereby merely enforcing the First Amendment? You criticize the Supreme Court for allowing distribution of pornography. Doesn't the First Amendment protect each individual's right to decide for himself or herself what to read?
