15 art-loving Chicago teens Led by 2 local artists Brought together for a 2-year program Pioneered by 1 museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago Donations to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA) Annual Fund provide critical support to initiatives across the museum. Not only does the Annual Fund help keep the doors open and the lights on, it also provides essential funding for forward-thinking exhibitions, MCA Stage productions, educational programming, care of our permanent collection, and MCA community free days ensuring that everyone has access to art. Speaking of access to art and ideas, last year, Annual Fund resources helped launch the MCA Teen Creative Agency (TCA). Created to augment limited art resources in Illinois schools, this two-year program transforms the city of Chicago into an interactive classroom to educate and inspire the next generation of contemporary artists. Teens interact with local artists, engage in critical analysis and discussion of art, and work hand-and-hand with MCA staff. Most importantly, TCA members probe the question “What is art?” and work to understand art’s function and value in today’s society. Please make a donation to the MCA Annual Fund today and help nurture contemporary art and artists through programs like the Teen Creative Agency. mcachicago.org/appeal
