    • "Claim Your Birthright" - Short version

PILLOW BOOK AS INHERITANCE: Opening In “Pillow Book as Inheritance” Thomas explores notions of Birthright through a variation of a Japanese Shunga Pillow Book: a folded-paper illustrated ‘manual for lovers’ with explicit sexual advice often passed down from older to younger generations. Thomas' reflection of our Western society was intended to be ambiguous and conflicting, containing both material and narrative triggers to generate dialogue about our relationship to sex, how we inform our youth and how or what we pass on as forms of knowledge. CLAIM YOUR BIRTHRIGHT: Closing Inspired by readings, such as “Common as Air : Revolution, Art and Ownership” and “The Gift: Imagination and the Erotic Life of Property,” by Lewis Hyde and “The Ecstasy of Influence” by Jonathan Lethem, Thomas' opening art talk and closing performance transpired with Hyde’s preferred “gift-economy” in mind. During the exhibition's closing, the artist's role was to create a departure (a 'point of departure', divergence and exodus and thereby) bequeathing all 'notes of the pillow' to the participants who showed up on that day to further engage with the Pillow Book’s current themes on tutelage/sex education and the passing on of information. The performance was an exploration of agency, punctuating how knowledge is disseminated, while activating relations of power pertaining to sex, the art world and our Western society.

Rinsch, ‘The Gift’ Belongs to the "pararell Lines" Phillips Cinema campaning. Placed in Russia, The Gift is a Sci-Fi short with a savage Chase sequence on it. We made more than 20 full CGI shots for the short. Check out the animated pictures to see how it has been done. We also made the vechicles and some characters desings. We enjoyed creating such an unusual atmosphere and sense. Not the regular Sci-fi film we are used to see..." https://vimeo.com/33025640

On Sunday, December 14, 2014, Pastor Jim spoke from Ps. 118 & Ex. 17. He spoke of "The Gift" of God...the 'Rock' that was "Anointed", and 'Jesus' that was "Anointed". He said, "We need water (an anointing) to live"...and "The supply we receive through Christ Jesus supplies everybody's need." An awakening and necessary message during this Christmas Season!

The Gift is a still life that analyzes the concept of time and waiting. As the subject of the Vanitas, we have imagined an ice jewelery box, in which you can see the content. The gift, so precious and desired, can be owned only by waiting for time and nature interaction. Enjoy your waiting! Buona attesa!
