1. Lady TO - By MADE WADE

Love letter to my city, written and performed by MADE WADE. Directed and shot by yours truly. CREW Director/Cinematographer/Editor - Darius Bashar Cinematographer - Darryl Ahye Producer - Andrew Peek 1st Camera Assistant - Samantha Jensen 2nd Camera Assistant - Josiah Croker Stylist + Set Designer - Sarah Morales (LYRICS) The way she moved me was electric Our bond was Yonge But it was cemented from the first time we connected She had such a powerful presence It felt larger than life So heels or no heels she took me up to great heights And embraced me An outsider She stood beside me with an unmistakable immensity I began tunnelling towards her core Decoding her identity And learning more about myself along the ride I'm just a typical, sensible slash rational guy Fascinated by her deep international ties See, the same way she embraced me She embraced the rainbow Her taste in food Embodied the very definition of eclecticism and I began to understand her pace of life is lightning Enlightening me to the idea that if I took my time I'd get left behind And somewhere along the line I lost my Queen inside the shuffle She had brought to me everything from dinosaurs to botany But I placed emphasis where it ought not to be and bogged down by monotony My complacency left her agitated Parts of her dilapidated Instead of treating her like the one She became more like The Six But I can wear this Front no farther Still waters run deep Just like the regrets that I still Harbour I only have one chance for reclamation And that's to capitalize on the outlets she's created The spaces for me to speak freely and express myself uniquely She allows me to be me and I admire that so deeply I miss her tolerance, her willingness I never knew love until she taught me what that feeling is There were times I couldn't look at her But her beauty is undeniable And never ending I just hope a happy ending is still viable For this Union I am liable I just hope it's not too late

In keeping with the spirit of this workshop, I sought to write a piece that was well outside of my creative comfort zone. For me, this meant giving up as much control over the musical material as possible. Rather than follow my usual path of notating everything, therefore removing much of the performer’s freedom, I have composed only small cells of material which the performer can then move within and between relatively freely, repeating almost any part of the piece as much as they desire. - August Murphy-King Visual Art: Nathan Piquette-Miller works with the synthesis of audio and visual artwork to design an immersive artistic experience. “Producing music is something I consider a hobby of mine; something I hope I can refine in school as well. I play guitar and some piano, and I am knowledgeable in electronic music software and sound design. In terms of the visual arts, I mostly practice in the medium of video, although I am interested in anything, which contains the moving image, illustration, animation, etc." - N. P-M.

"Still and Moving Lines" is an exploration in acoustic interference and the psychoacoustics of tuning. Each octave of the Malletkat features the same set of intervals based on the first 5 octaves of the harmonic series. However each octave uses a different generating frequency: 200hz, 201hz, 202hz, and 203hz. This allows for the exploration of exact just tuning as well as extremely minute differences in intervallic relationships that can simultaneously affect both timbre and rhythm. Each octave is placed in a different speaker of a quadraphonic set up, allowing for all of the acoustic interferences to occur in physical space, occasionally moving the sound around the room via shifting zones of interference. The visual accompaniment takes the frequencies being played and plots them on an x-y plane, creating Lissajous curves that reveal the physicality of the interaction of moving waves. The visual system was designed by Nicole Del Medico. The title of the work is an homage to Alvin Lucier's seminal work "Still and Moving Lines of Silence in Families of Hyperbola". - Ben Wylie Visuals: Nicole Del Medico is an Integrated Media Student entering her 5th year of study. Interests relate to animation, interactive media such as video games, and sonic arts. While my work can sometimes be very light hearted in nature and family friendly, I also produce works of art that are politically charged with the hope of making viewers contemplate the messages delivered to perhaps change their outlooks, behavior, or views. I have created numerous artworks that aim to raise awareness of serious mental issues such as PTSD as well as cyberbullying that occur in virtual spaces and the presence of the military in entertainment products such as video games. Conceptually, my artworks focus on creating narrative experiences that have no spoken dialogue, thus placing the creative restraint where animated characters can only express themselves through action and where audio and sound design becomes even more crucial.
