Brothers Allen and Harold Hakala live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with no electricity, no running water, and no company but each other and some distant friends. The brothers live as modern day pioneers. They are jacks of all trades, do odd jobs to live, and make things before they buy. This film was shot and edited circa 2002-2003.

Part three of an ongoing weekly project that juxtaposes personal writings with everyday life. How do our minds connect the spoken thoughts of my writings to the everyday life of my actors? How does image shape the soundtrack and vice versa? Each episode was shot in a day; the audio track was written and recorded upon reviewing the raw footage. The writings are completely mine, ranging in topic from relevant to the time issues, to personal emotions. Written, directed, shot and edited by Bob Garvey.

by Nate Theis, senior, 3 min and 15 sec This is only a portion of what I would hope to be a much larger project. People can anonymously (or not) submit their own embarrassing secret/awkward stories, which will be animated in various mediums. The goal of all this would not only be for others entertainment, but to also serve as a release and feel odd about who you are and who you were. (Email me if you would like to be a part of this project...NRTHEIS@UWM.EDU)
