Bryan Viewpoints Speaker Dennis P. Lockhart  President and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Tuesday, Sept. 28th, 4:30 p.m., Convocation Hall The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is part of the central bank of the United states.  In its monetary policy role, the Bank seeks to keep prices stable and economic growth at its maximum sustainable rate.  Federal Reserve Bank presidents meet with the seven Fed governors every six weeks at the Federal Open Market Committee meeting, where key decisions are made about interest rates and the growth of the U.S. money supply.   The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves a district covering Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.  Lockhart’s visit comes at a time of intense interest in the country’s monetary policy decisions.  His public statements are followed closely by financial institutions and media.  Lockhart's career includes many years of experience in domestic and international banking and finance. From 2003 to 2007, he taught in the master's degree program at Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service and chaired the program's concentrations in international business-government relations and global commerce and finance. Lockhart's Sewanee visit is sponsored by the Babson Center for Global Commerce.  Support for the Viewpoints Speaker Series comes from a generous gift by Peggy and JF Bryan, C’65.

A video I made for an Intermediate Video class at Sewanee: The University of the South exploring the theme and use of light. Inspiration comes from directors Hiroshi Teshigahara and Andrei Tarkovsky, as well as experimental musicians such as Sonic Youth and Pauline Oliveros. Original soundtrack written and recorded by Jacob Brashear and Doo Bin Nam. I recommend using headphones for this short feature.
