Moving shots done with an 8' Kessler Crane. Continuing in the tradition of the previous few films. It's the idea of penetrating the walls we build up around ourselves. Canon XHA1/Letus Ultimate combo.

Fall has begun in this neck of the woods. Canon XHA1/Letus Ultimate, Kessler 8’ crane. Most shots done with Nikon 24mm f2.8 set to f8, some shots with 50mm f1.8 set to f8. Macro 55mm f2/8 was used for the apple shot. Preset used is “EOS Photo”. You can find it on DVInfo.net. I tweaked the color and brought the black levels up and did minor white balance color correction. Narrator is me. Enjoy.

      • Salt River Canyon

        from Greg Vaughan / Added

The vista where U.S. 60 crosses the Salt River Canyon is one of the most dramatic in Arizona. Here the highway descends 2,000 feet of steep switchbacks, crosses a bridge, and ascends the opposite side of the canyon. About 20 miles below the bridge, the spectacular steep-walled canyon bisects Salt River Canyon Wilderness. Within the area elevations range from 2,200 feet at the canyon's lower end to 4,200 feet on White Ledge Mountain. I recently finished this self made camera crane which has a 3m50 span and a max height of 4m50. It took me a few weekends to build it, as every minute in the workshop took like 10 minutes of thinking before. And there is still room for improvement, but so far, I'm quite happy with the result. Basically just went out with camera and shot. Nothing planned. Smooth -2 Lenses: Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 Zeiss ZF 50mm 1.4 Singh-Ray Vari-N-Duo Vari-ND and Circular polarizer in One ps: I use rgrain for grain, but compression just kills the grain so that is the weird stuff you see in the sky, looks much better in original! This is one of the first nature shorts I shot at Marymoor Park with my DVX100. There were many lucky accidents in this piece as you'll see. I worked closely with Glenn Scott Lacey http://www.glennscottlacey.com to produce the beautiful original score. I also worked with world-renowned nature recordist Martyn Stewart http://www.naturesound.org/Welcome.html on the ambient sound. Again, as with my other pieces "Daybreak" and "Monday", you can see that there is an entirely different feel to this piece even though it's at the same exact location. Time of day, season and inspirational energy all contribute to the result. This is part of my Water's Edge DVD http://www.pinelakefilms.com/buydvd.html
