In February 2015 Chris and Verena travelled for 4 weeks through Chile. This is how they documented it. Videos are made with (an unfortunately slightly damaged) iphone4 and a Nikon D800E. The GoPro they took with them got stolen, and with it some videos and the opportunity to show their journey as planned, but still they found a way, using what was left.... For watching more pictures of the journey and retracing their travel route, head over to the blog ( - three entrys, written in german): bit.ly/chile-teil1 bit.ly/chile-teil2 bit.ly/chile-teil3 Enjoy watching and remember to put Chile on your bucket list in case you haven't been there yet!

Instead of taking the highway from Mendoza to Salta in Argentina, my son and I decided to aim for Route 40, through the Andes Mountains. This is a very famous route, like Route 66 in the United States. Route 40 stretches from Rio Gallegos in the south to La Quiaca at the Bolivian border. On the way, we visited Parque Provincial Ischigualasto, a national park, which is often referred to as Valle de la Luna. It's well worth it just to Google the park so you can see how extraordinary it is. From there, we traveled over the mountains and many non-populated areas before we reached civilization. A magnificent and unique landscape became the norm.

5 months with the most incredible people, traveling the most beautiful places this world has to offer. It was hard to cram all my experiences into one short video, but I did the best I could. If you're watching this, I hope that someday you will get to live these types of experiences, where you brave the unknown and learn to let go. Song: All We Need (Autograf Remix)- ODESZA

I set out on a 3 and a half day weekend in the Atacama Region of Chile. Sivan, Aaron, Allison, and myself packed as much as we possibly could into the trip. We saw Chuquimata (the largest copper mine in the world), Geysers de Tatio, Valle de la Muerte, Valle de la Luna, Alto Plano, the third largest salt flat in the world, a night star gazing tour, and we even cooked up a nice asado at our hostel.

Mid-way through our school-guided tour of the area around San Pedro de Atacama in Northern Chile, our bus broke down in the middle of nowhere. We had time to look around, feel the heat of the desert, and go a tiny bit crazy. It was certainly one of the highlights of the trip. :) Part 1 of three shorts showing a bit of my experiences in Chile last fall. First, the north, next the south, then a final video with footage from everywhere. The song, "Noche de Contrapunto," is performed by Rolando Alarcon, a famous Chilean folk singer. It's a shame I couldn't find a better quality copy. It tells the story of a duel between Javier de la Rosa and Mulatto Taguada (Mulatto, a racial mix of European and African descent, is used here without intention of insult).
