Only three years ago, abandoned animals in Hanoi had nowhere to go. Household pets that were kicked out of the home, would now have to wander the streets and fend for themselves, often resulting in death. Now, it’s a completely different story. In 2012, the city’s volunteer pet rescue service was established – a group of people doing similar work to that of Australia’s RSPCA. And as Kai Hayes explains, volunteers are also attempting to change the way certain domesticated animals in Vietnam are perceived. Created in honor of those who have made the Ultimate Sacrifice—the greatest Act of Love—laying down one's life. The music is Stephen Stills' 1971 song "Find the Cost of Freedom," as recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and included on their "So Far" album released in 1974. The Poem Daylight again, following me to bed I think about a hundred years ago, how my fathers bled I think I see a valley, covered with bones in blue All the brave soldiers that cannot get older been askin' after you Hear the past a callin', from Armageddon's side When everyone's talkin' and no one is listenin', how can we decide? (Do we) find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground? Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down Find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down (Find the cost of freedom buried in the ground)
