Just 30 seconds of original remixed footage of the amazing football freestyler Iya Traore I captured recently whilst in Paris. Passion, creativity and sheer determination to achieve the unachievable, these are the elements I found in this freestyler and the global spirit of these awesome awards. Hope you enjoy it! :)) Shot with a GH1 and the stock lens. Check out 'Simply Paris' vimeo.com/12312910 for more. Music by Black Eyed Peas 'Pump It'. This past weekend in New York City, on the same days that self-proclaimed freaks and geeks gathered 10 blocks north for the annual NY Comic Con, freaks and geeks of another ilk gathered at the beautiful IAC building for the first annual Vimeo Festival and Awards. And it was a brilliant affair. Highlights included workshops and discussions with the leading directors, documentarians, and artists working on the most advanced technology, all set against the backdrop of internet distribution through Vimeo. What makes Vimeo so special? Vimeo is a clean, simple, and elegant interface for online videos with no clutter, advertisements, or other pre-roll content which affects the integrity of its videos. Vimeo has successfully built a community of users who are mature, professional, and supportive of the other filmmakers and artists on the site. In addition to countless channels and categories, Vimeo curates 2 channels of staff picks, culling the best, most original and creative work from the masses regardless of their popularity. So, when it comes to popularity, is Vimeo still YouTube's little brother? Maybe. But aren't they always the cutest ones anyway? Welcome to the future of filmmaking and online distribution. I owe many thanks to: Vimeo.com (in particular Deborah Szajngarten, Dae Mellencamp, Jeremy Boxer) for a professionally run, content-driven, and delightfully presented conference and award ceremony. Dr. Reggie Watts (field of research unknown) for an awe-inspiring keynote and welcome presentation. Here's another option, but this variation isn't in joke format (although I kept the cast & the log-in guy). Feel free to use both this one and the joke, or whichever one you like better. :) Get tickets for the Vimeo Festival starting August 17th - vimeo.com/awards We can't wait to see you there!

Schizo Videoart produced in Bologna (Italy) 2006 Ophiuchus is a large constellation located around the celestial equator. Its name is from the Greek "serpent-bearer", and it is commonly represented as a man grasping the snake that is represented by the constellation Serpens. Ophiuchus is one of thirteen constellations that cross the ecliptic. It has therefore been called the '13th sign of the zodiac'. However, this confuses sign with constellation. The constellations of the zodiac have only a loose association with the signs of the zodiac, and do not in general coincide with them. In Western astrology the constellation of Aquarius, for example, largely corresponds to the sign of Pisces. Similarly, the constellation of Ophiuchus occupies most of the sign of Sagittarius.
