Join me as I take you on a quick video tour of the Turkish coastal city of Antalya, located in the heart of the Turkish Riviera. This footage was filmed during a visit in early February 2012 right after the monster storm that swept Turkey. In this video I share with you the lower Duden Falls and their smaller sibling, shots of Antalya's gorgeous historic harbor, and the coastline. You also get to see my cliff-top perch where I ALMOST ended up slipping and going for a pain/unexpected swim. Stay tuned for my upcoming video showcasing the city's incredible Archaeological Museum. Also, please make sure not to miss my other Turkey videos covering Cappadocia and Istanbul. You can get a more in-depth insight into the region and my trip via my blog, http://virtualwayfarer.com. This rather quirky video was filmed as I explored the underground city of Yeralti Sehri - the largest of Cappadocia's 17 underground cities. With more than 8 levels (only 4 remain open) and a depth of 40+ meters it rests beneath a small Turkish city and is located in the heart of the Cappadocia region in central Turkey. As we wound our way through the underground city the acoustics were pretty entertaining. Enjoying the near-emptiness of the city my good friend and travel companion (Galen) periodically burst into song. I've captured a few of the songs and included them in the video. Nothing profession, planned or honed, just good old fashioned fun. You'll note the presence of snow and steam from our breath at various points in the video. Footage was shot in early February, 2012 during a massive cold front that swept the area. Hopefully you'll be kind enough to forgive my occasional sniffle as well. The night before it had been -21 degrees Celsius. Located in the heart of Turkey, the Cappadocia region is home to a number of fascinating, and highly unusual rock formations. The most recognizable of which are mushroom shaped spires of varying sizes. Over the last 2,000 years people have carved into these spire's soft rock-faces to carve out sprawling underground cities. I shot this footage over a two day visit to the Cappadocia region in early February 2012. I filmed it during a break in what turned out to be some of the coldest weather Turkey had experienced in more than 25 years. The result was a view of Cappadocia covered in snow. This video showcases the natural and man made beauty of the area surrounding Goreme, then finishes with a video of an unusual local dish. The dish is cooked inside small clay pots which are then broken in half when the meal is served.
