Anne Ramsden's statement for Whispered Art History: "A seven (or more) video monitor installation with variable arrangements. The twenty-seven minute video program depicts less celebrated sites in Vancouver as two women drive around the city scouting locations for a film shoot. Narrative flow is tenuous; spoken and written text is used to both fragment and link the multiple sequences. The women's relationship to urban space is fraught with disruption, even as they attempt to construct a meaningful historical and experiential relation to the city."

An emotional, sad, yet uplifting three day journey around the battlegrounds and cemeteries of the Western Front in France, where Australia and the Allies defended our freedom against the Nazi's in the Great War 1914-1918. Following in the footsteps of my Great Grandfather, Alexander Woodford, we visited Polygon Wood where he was severely wounded along with other sites, culminating in the Dawn Service at Villers Brettoneux. This place is something all Australian's should see...

ENGLISH: Casa de la Imagen has an impressive collection of 500 stereo negatives taken by an unknown french officer at WWI, who portrayed battles like Somme, Arras or Ypres, people and weapons of all the armies in high quality images. Casa de la Imagen has digitized and restored the entire collection.
