http://blog.storage.com/storage/how-to-store-scuba-equipment/ – When you're out of the water, scuba diving gear can be bulky and takes up a lot of space. Renting a small storage unit to keep your scuba equipment during the off season is a great way to keep it out of the way and prevent any accidental damage to such temperamental and expensive equipment. Wetsuits must be rinsed out with freshwater, or else the salt in saltwater will break down the material over time. Make sure to completely dry the wetsuit after washing to prevent any mold and mildew developing. Masks, gauges, flippers, cylinders, wetsuits and other scuba gear are also extremely sensitive to temperature changes, so it's recommended to store in a climate-controlled storage locker. Finally, you don't want to store your scuba cylinders or oxygen tanks completely full. The excess pressure can damage the metal casing. But you don't want to store them completely empty either. Store them at a lower psi (pounds per square inch of pressure) then have them re-filled before use. Before you go out on your next dive, take all of your equipment to a professional scuba diving dealer for a close inspection, to make sure everything is still in good working condition.
