A nurturing farmer in is danger of losing his crop of windmills when he struggles against the cyclical forces of nature. Created at the UCLA Animation Workshop, with music by Nick Fevola. This film was inspired while driving back from a trip to Palm Springs, when a friend said that it must take them forever to plant and grow so many windmills. I wrote down the title The Windmill Farmer for an idea to explore later, and about a year later I started developing it into a character and story. This film took 4 months to complete from the first boards until the final mix. Portrait of a 150 years old windmill located in the Netherlands. Made with appreciation for the volunteers that continue to maintain the mill. My friend Mark shot a music video on 35mm and asked me to shoot handheld 16mm simultaneously for his lighting assignment. This is the random 16mm footage that I shot. Haha this is ridiculous and random and was super fun to shoot. (This is not the original song his 35mm video was for, I just have to edit together stuff I've shot for school.)

I just dicovered an old windmill in Käesalu and found it very interesting to show. It is probably about 150 years old and nobody actually remembers when was the last time it was working. But this is history, history that deserves our attention. Shot with Canon 60D, 18-135mm kit. I've started to film tvelwe minutes before the sunset and didn't cut the camera until the end. During the editing, I've used only the cut to make the clip. First time I'm trying this, could be boring to watch, I don't know. Music : Ustad Sultan Khan - Tarana.

The mill of the family De Hulster - in Dutch: De Hulster's Molen - in Schoondijke is one of several old windmills in the Netherlands, which are kept open by volunteers in an effort to preserve this cultural heritage. It was built in 1884 and in commercial use until 1956. Today, it still offers limited service to local farmers. It is open to the public on two days of the week. An old gentleman - the grandson of the last miller - provides a tour through the mill and explains the history and technical details with large enthusiasm. It is as fascinating as the light and atmosphere inside the old windmill. The footage was used in most parts without any colour grading and was edited for the 'only 45 seconds' group of The Film Artist (great idea, TFA). Music - Dominio 'Castle'
