    Mental Illness - It's Time To Stop Being Weird About it. 
In 2011, Zac Crouse toured his album ‘You Plan To Do Nothing’ from Ottawa ON, to Halifax NS using only a sea kayak and a bicycle. It was a journey Zac had intended to do with his friend Corey; who died during a kayaking adventure with Zac in Nova Scotia. The experience left Zac with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and inspired Zac’s latest project, Paddle To The Ocean. Paddle To The Ocean is a music & film project about using a kayak, a banjo and a bicycle to recover from PTSD. The Paddle To The Ocean soundtrack includes two original songs + eight instrumental songs featuring members of Acres and Acres and a poem by Halifax’s Poet–Laureate Tanya Davis. The Paddle To The Ocean documentary film is directed by Kelsey Thompson. (Length: 1hr)

        On April 23, 2009 Zac Crouse witnessed the death of his best friend during a kayaking accident. After being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Crouse decided to take action. As a Recreational Therapist he self prescribed therapy to help deal with his illness, a trip from Ottawa, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia without the assistance of motor vehicles. It was a trip Crouse had planned to do with his friend and decided to pursue by himself after his loss. Paddle to the Ocean is the story of Zac's trip and his fight against PTSD.
