Filmmaker and public speaker Reggie Bullock is one of the most sought after motivational speakers in the United States, traveling to over 60 cities in the past two years. Reggie’s short film "A War For Your Soul" is a stirring, inspirational video for today’s generation. Over 10 million internet viewers have watched “A War For Your Soul” in 2 years. The video has garnered praise from mayors, city leaders, youth and civic organizations and almost every major country around the world, sparking dialogue in encouraging adults to play a more active role in educating children. On Oct. 14th, Popular radio host Michael Baisden said "This is a must see film". Reggie has received the "key to the city" award from the cities of Macon GA., Riviera Beach Fl. and Corpus Christi TX. Reggie is currently active as a noted speaker, conducting speaking engagements throughout the country. For speaking engagements contact www.warforyoursoul.com or reggie.bullock@warforyoursoul.com This video was created to inspire young at-risk African-Americans not to fall prey to some of the problems they face in society. The "Master of Darkness" represents that abstract concept of evil that has the potential to reside in the consciousness of mankind. The use of the images of Richard Pryor and NAS, were used to show how we have publicly displayed the "N" word over the course of time. Richard Pryor, before his death, had gone on record to publicly denounce his use of the word, and the Rapper NAS ( one of the few socially conscious rappers ) intentions of wearing the jacket had nothing to do with the glorification of the word. I have enjoyed some of Pryor's masterful story telling and I have also enjoyed some of the thought provoking music from NAS. This video should not to be used to divide people (Black & White). This video should not be used to criticize all aspects of hip-hop culture. This video should not be used to allow the rest of society to escape from their responsibility, to help with financial & academic support. If used properly, this video will allow our youth to see some of the horrific conditions that their ancestors fought through and some of the horrific conditions they face today. An extensive commentary about the film can be seen at www.warforyoursoul.com **THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR SALE & I AM NOT ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR THE FILM, I ONLY WANT THE MESSAGE TO REACH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT ANY HIDDEN POLITICAL OR FINANCIAL AGENDA. Human beings don’t always make rational decisions. But making irrational decisions is precisely what makes us human. These decisions, based on an impulse or a feeling, often lead us to those perfect moments when it feels great to be alive. "The Beauty of the Irrational" follows Ryan Sandes, a South African Ultra-Runner, as he returns to the Fish River Canyon to run the 5 day, 84km, Fish River Canyon Hiking Trail in the fastest time possible. He completed the run, self-supported, in amazing time of 6h57min! • Mandi: Naked in Bushwick

I photographed Mandi in Bushwick, Brooklyn in 2010. It was part of a story on me that AOL did, for their website called "asylum." Nope, it's no longer around. But Amanda is. I am. This shoot was a bit different for me, as we took the risk of shooting out on a public street, which is technically against the law. One can be topless in New York City legally, but not completely nude. Oh well. Passersby seemed to like it. Mandi (Amanda) is one of my favorite models, due to her infectious smile, curly hair, and amazing body. I never get tired of seeing it. I hope you won't either, as I have several other shoots with Mandi that I have yet to post. I hope this inspires you to photograph other women naked outside. Unless of course you are in Saudi Arabia. Or if you do, make sure the Prince is ok with it. The Prince of Brooklyn was very happy with a Naked Happy Mandi :)

            • HIMBA - Ethnic Group (Namibia)

              from jjackk / Added

The Himba are an ethnic group of about 20,000 to 50,000 people living in northern Namibia, in the Kunene region (formerly Kaokoland). They are a nomadic, pastoral people, closely related to the Herero, and speak Otjihimba, a dialect of the Herero language. The Himba breed cattle and goats. The responsibility of milking the cows lies with the women. Women take care of the children, and one woman will take care of another woman's children. Women tend to perform more labor-intensive work than men do, such as carrying water to the village and building homes. Men handle the political tasks and legal trials. Members of an extended family typically dwell in a homestead, "a small, circular hamlet of huts and work shelters" that surrounds "an okuruwo (ancestral fire) and a central livestock enclosure." Both the fire and the livestock are closely tied to their belief in ancestor worship, the fire representing ancestral protection and the livestock allowing "proper relations between human and ancestor." The Himba wear little clothing, but the women are famous for covering themselves with otjize, a mixture of butter fat and ochre, possibly to protect themselves from the sun. The mixture gives their skins a reddish tinge. This symbolizes earth's rich red color and the blood that symbolizes life, and is consistent with the Himba ideal of beauty. Women braid each other's hair and cover it in their ochre mixture. The Himba never wash, even after childbirth. In order to get rid of body odour, they apply strong-smelling substances to their bodies. They do not wash their hands either - instead they use specific dust to clean their hands. Modern clothes are scarce, but generally go to the men when available. Traditionally both men and women go topless and wear skirts or loincloths made of animal skins in various colors. Adult women wear beaded anklets to protect their legs from venomous animal bites. Boys are generally circumcised before puberty, to make them eligible for marriage. Marriages are arranged at a daughter's birth and usually take place when the girl is between about 14 and 17. (Wikipedia) View my web pages : www.african.dream.webd.pl

Thanks! http://facebook.com/NgendoMukii Please follow me on twitter @NgendoMukii I am interested in the concept of skin and race, and what they imply; in the ideas and theories sown into our flesh that change with the arc of time. The idea of beauty has become globalised, creating homogenous aspirations, and distorting people’s self-image across the planet. In my film, I focus on African women’s self-image, through memories and interviews; using mixed media to describe this almost schizophrenic self-visualization that I and many others have grown up with. -Best Experimental Short Film, Black Star Film Festival, USA August 2014 -Best Short Film, AfriKamera Film Festival, Warsaw, Poland April 2014 -3rd place in the Documentary Category, 2nd Afrinolly Short Film Competition, February 2014 -Best Animation, This Is England Film Festival, Rouen, France November 2013 -Best Student Film, Underexposed Film Festival, SC, USA November 2013 -Silver Hugo for Best Animated Short, 49th Chicago International Film Festival, USA October 2013 -Special Mention, 59th Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Germany May 2013 -Best Short Film, Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Lagos, Nigeria March 2013 -Best Animation, 7th Kenya International Film Festival, Nairobi, Kenya November 2012 -Africa Movie Academy Awards, Bayelsa, Nigeria April 2013 Nominated for Best Short Film Award -Colours of the Nile Film Festival Addis Ababa, Ethiopia November 2012 Nominated for Best Short Film Award -Encounters Short Film Festival Bristol, UK September 2012 Nominated in The Nahemi Student Film Awards facebook.com/NgendoMukii thenge.com/
