TP AirMaster is the first tool I do with Thinking Particles 6. Imagine that your wind is smart enough to recognize the 3dspace, and interacts with the geometry around.Imagine that your 3d objects also affect the air around him. So I recreate air inside 3dsmax thanks to Thinking Particles power. I discretize the space (on the video its every 15cm a space of 3mx3mx1.5m) and simulate the air flow considering all the objects inside this space. In parallel I have a RBD simulation (also softbodies) using Bullet that takes the data of the air near them to affect his velocity. This way moving objects affect particles even if there is no direct contact (because they move air) or I can create a fan that move constantly the air, creating a realistic behaviour since this air interacts with all elements in the scene, So this is AirMaster! As you can see the system is really fast (viewport is accelerated X1.5 times), and Im running this on a laptop I5m, with 4gb of ram and a GT520M, 1K RBD objects. With an actual computer this will run X4 or X6 times faster.

I'm still working on the post production of my movie Highlights 2009. For pass the time, you can discover this new exclusive extract of the Flying Legends at the Duxford Airshow. More footage coming soon. Flying Legends - two words which instantly evoke the very best of classic aircraft displaying at Duxford in one of the world's most celebrated air shows. Duxford is a village in Cambridgeshire, England, some ten miles south of Cambridge. Duxford gives its name to RAF Duxford, a former Royal Air Force airfield that was used as a sector station during the Battle of Britain. Duxford Aerodrome was the home of Douglas Bader's Big Wing during that battle. Duxford airfield later became a fighter airfield for the United States Army Air Forces operating P47 Thunderbolt aircraft, it is now the Imperial War Museum Duxford. Shot with a Sony-HVR-Z1. Edited on FCP. Not graded. Filmed and edited by Yannick Barthe, www.aeromedia-concept.ch

This is a sequence I was working on a few years ago. It was never completed - and probably never will be. There are a few cuts that were just tests that I used to fill in some gaps. I did learn a lot while creating these shots, which was really the main purpose of the whole exercise... I'm not a character artist by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm quite aware of the shortcomings in the human animations. I did the best I could at the time!

Inspired by this video (https://vimeo.com/57182252), I wanted to give it a shot myself. Drastically different results from standard FLIP. Meshing this, however, looks terrible. This would be best used for secondary elements, with a basis of a flip simulation without airfield. Really fun to play with though for such a simple technique.
